Do you know if the video is available for it yet? I'd like to share it with others.</p>

It was also great to see you present and hear your views at <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSECon23</span></a> Daniel.</p>
Chris Edsall<p>Back from a productive and reinvigorating week in Swansea at <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSECon23</span></a> . We got a large number of the team along in person and we presented talks, posters, walkthroughs and BoFs. There was work from the Institute of Computing for Climate Science and the <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mast.hpc.social/@COZL" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>COZL</span></a></span></p>
Code4Thought<p>And some big news for me at <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RSECon23</span></a>: 7 new trustees for the UK Society of Research Software Engineering got voted in, including myself. This is very exciting and I look forward to working with you in future.</p>
Code4Thought<p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RSECon23</span></a> is coming to an end. Thanks to the many volunteers who made that happen and turned it into a great event. <br />Hope to see you all in Newcastle in 2024</p>
Peter Cock<p>Evelina Gabasova said at <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSECon23</span></a> that her biggest impact piece of work was the <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/StarWars" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StarWars</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/SocialNetwork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SocialNetwork</span></a> (inferred from the parsing the film scripts) <a href="http://evelinag.com/blog/2015/12-15-star-wars-social-network/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="ellipsis">evelinag.com/blog/2015/12-15-s</span><span class="invisible">tar-wars-social-network/</span></a> which has since been used in teaching materials, a text book, lectures - as well as being very widely read</p>
Peter Cock<p>All too often "<a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Github" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Github</span></a> is where academic <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> goes to die" says Evelina Gabasova talking about how to have impact through your work at <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSECon23</span></a></p>

David Llewellyn-Jones<p>Right now at <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSECon23</span></a> a panel on RSEs in academic vs. RSEs in industry. Inevitably there's a lot of discussion on pay and benefits (which I find a bit depressingly reductive), but also useful visibility of the variety of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RSE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSE</span></a> roles that exist.</p>
David Llewellyn-Jones<p>It's the last day of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSECon23</span></a>. Attended a fantastic session on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ReFrame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ReFrame</span></a> for automated task running on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/HPC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HPC</span></a> yesterday (designed for tests but in this case benchmarks). It was fully hands-on using <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Archer2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Archer2</span></a>, which really removed the mystery in a good way. This alone would have been worth attending for.</p>

Code4Thought<p>Day 2 at the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/RSECon23" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RSECon23</span></a> in Swansea, and it is a day of workshops and discussions and catching up with friends and meeting new people.</p>
