Łukasz Langa<p>I took part in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PyWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PyWeek</span></a> 39 over the weekend and made a game in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PyScript" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PyScript</span></a>. It's a single-tap rhythm game. Should work on any desktop browser and most new phones. It was a fun challenge to make a game where the realtime music sync is so important. You want to let people tap a little too late and still have the game allow it. You want it to be playable with Bluetooth headphones and keyboards that add a lot of latency.</p><p>Play at <a href="https://ambv.pyscriptapps.com/streamline/latest/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ambv.pyscriptapps.com/streamli</span><span class="invisible">ne/latest/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GameDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameDev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GameJam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameJam</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndieDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IndieDev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndieGame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IndieGame</span></a></p>

Łukasz Langa<p>I took part in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PyWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PyWeek</span></a> this year and managed to make a simple 3D game with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PyScript" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PyScript</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ThreeJS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ThreeJS</span></a>.</p><p>This technology is quite something, it runs at 120 FPS in Chrome at 4K... while the game logic is in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a>.</p><p>I wrote a few words on my experience here: <a href="https://pyweek.org/d/7804/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">pyweek.org/d/7804/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GameDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameDev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndieGame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IndieGame</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndieDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IndieDev</span></a></p>
Professor Code<p>The good news is that most of the reviews said the concept of the game itself and my take on the theme &#39;The Red Planet&#39; was interesting.</p><p><a href="https://pyweek.org/d/7588/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">pyweek.org/d/7588/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Although, the control scheme I chose is one thing that probably needs to changed. Professor Code<p>The results for my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/PyWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PyWeek</span></a> entry are out now. (I am ranked at #7 for individual entries.) I didn&#39;t really do too well. I am still trying to figure out why the game crashes on some systems. 😞 </p><p><a href="https://pyweek.org/e/ProfessorCode34/ratings/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">pyweek.org/e/ProfessorCode34/r</span><span class="invisible">atings/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://pyweek.org/e/ProfessorCode34/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">pyweek.org/e/ProfessorCode34/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://pyweek.org/34/ratings/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">pyweek.org/34/ratings/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Professor Code<p>Just found out that I won an award for my PyWeek 34 entry. It&#39;s a little shabby so I was quite surprised. 😃 Anyway, looking forward to what the judges have to say about it.</p><p><a href="https://pyweek.org/e/ProfessorCode34/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">pyweek.org/e/ProfessorCode34/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/PyWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PyWeek</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/GameDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GameDev</span></a></p>

Davy Mitchell<p>Been going through some of my old Pyweek entries. Been fun revisiting even the unfinished ones. Think I will stick to using primitives to draw graphics rather than bitmaps. It gives that proper magazine type-in look. Here's a lifeform from a 2019 entry. <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/pyweek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pyweek</span></a></p>
Davy Mitchell<p>Morning all! Gave Pygame GUI a quick try out and it is looking pretty good. Probably do something point and clicky for Pyweek. <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/pygame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pygame</span></a> <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/pyweek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pyweek</span></a></p>
Davy Mitchell<p>Started a practice game for <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/pyweek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pyweek</span></a> - doing in React because 'web' and it'll mean there's no temptation to pinch code for the PyWeek game. It's a simple suvival game. Aim to be finished by next Saturday.</p>
Davy Mitchell<p>Dug out a years old Pygame project this morning. Fun to revisit. Realised I had hard-coded it to start on level 9 😂 Oh well the pyweek judges had some fun with it anyway! May do that game jam again this year 🎮 <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/pyweek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pyweek</span></a></p>
