Daniele Verducci 🧉I'm amble to do simple <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.ichibi.eu/tag/electronics" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#electronics</a> repairs, but this is probably outside of my reach. I mean, there's a wireless stack to troubleshoot, in a highly integrated and Very <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.ichibi.eu/tag/proprietary" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Proprietary</a> device...<br>I'll simply replace it with something else, maybe something more open that doesn't require me to have a <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.ichibi.eu/tag/firebase" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Firebase</a> key to know the <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.ichibi.eu/tag/temperature" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#temperature</a> inside my own house 😓

Upgrading my old 13" MacBook Pro (Early 2013, A1425) to Debian Trixie. It's a great little machine - fabulous display.

Been using this machine for a several years running a different Linux variant. I was expecting this to be a quick wipe and install exercise but I forgot about the pita Broadcom B43 wifi shenanigans required with this laptop.

Oh well. At least I can futz with it while sitting in front of the TV I guess. James May's new 'Great Explorers' series is interesting.

Btw, Broadcom, it's a cheesy wifi driver! None of this dreck needs to be proprietary. It's not that special!

Today I was victim of proprietary software crap by car manufacturers. My auto electrician has only fixed a problem with a malfunctioning window switch panel partially because part of the configuration is software blocked and I have to go to the manufacturer's dealership. With each passing day I'm happier about my decision of not buying a new car because this problem must have become a nightmare in modern cars
