@holsta @are0h you aren’t wrong, I was chatting with a young man about a year and a half ago and it was SO BORING. I would just stop talking, and then he would do the birdseed thing to me, then he would get really upset and offended when I wouldn’t jump back in and carry the weight of the conversation.

Eventually I made him say #potato because I was convinced he was a bot. He only knew how to ask me questions, and if I asked him a question he would answer it, but that was it. It was so bizarre I’ve never had conversations like this in my life, and I won’t do it again. (He was 23, he claimed to be 28 when he approached me and even that was ridiculously young for me, so no.)

BTW, I only discovered his real age because I put his phone number into the Cash app search bar and he was using his real last name as part of his username in cash app so I was able to find information about him where I couldn’t before because he also lied about his last name even though I never even asked him for it.

Oof, I'm jabsolutely schnackered, but the potatoes are all in.

Leveled the mess from the fence removal with the digger.

Made a no-dig bed from Barnfloor Special*, a small amount of kitchen compost and a bunch of hay raked on top.

Barn is looking a step up again and I have enough space to park the machinery side by side, which is nice.

* The barn floor had a mix of old hay, manure, rotting wood and dry dusty soil, which is now a garden bed.

The garden, viewing down the line where a fence was removed yesterday. The resulting trench, mess of weeds and some small tree trunks has been removed and leveled. The small yellow excavator that did it stands nearby, googly eye just barely in frame.

View into the barn, now with nice and tidy bare earth floor. The last load of Barnfloor Special is in the wheelbarrow, standing by the door. The mix is hay with brown soil or manure.
The garden, now extended past where the fence was with a few rows of no-dig potatoes covered in hay. Bob the plastic head on a stick is tilting his head thoughtfully at this.
