infra and our content are under attack by slimy "AI" companies and their #scrapers. did anyone look into it who these companies are? who are their directors? how can we instead of trying to defend take back the fight to them? as long as there is no cost for them (externalised onto us) there will be no change in this despicable behavior. we need to start naming and shaming them, we need to start harassing them, suing them, raising their costs, so they stay the fuck away.

Trump is already blaming #Biden for killing the chicken. Trump's admin will use this as an excuse to turn a blind eye to food safety.

Human form #avian flu will spread form USA.

1. this one should have been obvious to me, but spelling it out brought clarity: Europeans, for millennia, developed garments that were, generally, gender neutral. then, the #pandemic of the #plague of 1328 happened and things changed.

2. he goes a bit into the #etymology of the word MODA/MODE, but doesn’t explore it in English even though he quotes several English laws about dress. i reckoned that #fashion in english is top down, whereas #moda in Romance languages is bottom up, so…

An unknown illness has killed more than 50 people within hours of the onset of their symptoms in northwestern Congo, according to the World Health Organization.

Some 419 cases have been recorded including 53 deaths since the disease outbreak began in the Democratic Republic of Congo on January 21.

Doctors on the ground say the interval between first symptoms and death has been 48 hours in the majority of cases.

[...]

According to the WHO's Africa office, the first outbreak in the town of Boloko began after three children ate a bat and died within 48 hours following hemorrhagic fever symptoms.

A number of hemorrhagic fevers are already well known, systematically studied, and their genome can be recognised, but:

All samples have been negative for Ebola or other common hemorrhagic fever diseases like Marburg.

=> It's likely a new, previously unknown, hemorrhagic fever now infecting humans.

In #plague news, bird flu is now going after the moo-birds and the meow-birds. :blobcatsweat:

At least four cattle herds in Nevada have tested positive for a strain of H5N1 bird flu never before seen in cows, state agriculture officials confirmed Wednesday, and respiratory symptoms like coughing and sneezing have been reported.

That bird flu strain, called D1.1 by scientists, was also linked to a fatal human case in Louisiana last year after exposure to sick birds. The D1.1 strain has emerged in recent months to dominate infections in wild birds and poultry flocks across North America.

Symptoms seen in humans infected by D1.1 have been more severe than the previous bird flu strain that has been spreading in cows. That strain, called B3.13, has led to only mild symptoms, like pink eye and fever, in humans infected after contact with sick cows.

Research suggests that B3.13 is less likely to result in severe disease for humans, unlike other bird flu strains overseas. The risk is different for other animals, like pet cats, which have frequently died after exposure to food and milk contaminated with B3.13.

I am sorry for the innocent, but the USA is about to become a pool of preventable infections and new pandemics. Already health authorities are withdrawing from vaccine programmes and news about the spread of bird flu removed.
When I was young and we were travelling to the USA we had to obtain a certificate stating we did not have a very long list of medical conditions.
Very long.
Maybe we need to bring it back, but including mandatory vaccinations; it should required for Americans to travel anywhere else.
Certain politicians should not be exempt.
