Just went for a glorious afternoon bike ride across the Boorloo Bridge over to Heirisson Island (https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/150597641) with my wife.
Never been around the western end of the island before: so serene and overlooked by so many. Probably why the kangaroos over there looked so peaceful. Never realised there was also an island on that island...

This morning I went along to watch some of the Youth Tour Of Scotland cycling. There is also the Perth GP this afternoon into the early evening for adult riders. All of these are doing circuits of Perth City Centre.
I only had time for one race, the Open Youth B Stage 2, which featured boys of a wide range of ages from across the UK. The equivalent Female Youth B Stage 2 race was just starting as I left.
This afternoon I went out for a ride on a whim, thinking maybe an hour or two, but I didn't set a route, just picked paths at random kind of following the river and then 2 hours later I realised I'd travelled much further than anticipated and was another hour from home lol. Stopped to refuel my body with some delicious fish tacos and coffee, nice restaurant staff refilled my water which was just about dry and I powered back home to find I'd covered 55km.
Last time I did that distance I was wrecked, this time I mostly just have a sore behind, so I guess I've gotten fitter in the meantime!
It was a lovely ride for the most part, except a few dodgy paths and a flight of stairs I dragged my bike up. Saw some beautiful views.
