In 2011 we headed off to Wales for a short break, largely to celebrate a big birthday and to take in part of the world neither I nor my wife had visited before, although I used to pass through part of it on the way to Ireland with my family as a child. To break up the journey from our home we had a stop in Bourton-on-the-Water for a quick look around the village and a slower wander through Birdland.

Against a blurred background of green and white with lots of large bokeh, we're looking up at a parrot perched within a large cage. We can't make out the cage itself but a dappled texture tells us we're looking through it to the bird. The parrot's head is lowered to its chest, almost as if in mid-peck of something amongst its feathers, and its right eye is staring intently at us. The bird's colouring is red on its chest and most of its head with some yellow and green highlights at the very top. The wings from outside in go from blue to green to yellow.
