Nach 20 Jahren im Data Warehouse-Bereich (#ETL, #Analysen, etc.) wird es jetzt Zeit für einen Jobwechsel (befeuert durch eine interne Umstrukturierung): Ich wechsle in den Nachbarbereich zu den Datenbank-Admins. Die bisherigen Kenntnisse bzgl. #SQL und #PLSQL werde ich nur teilweise anwenden können, dafür habe ich genug Neues zu lernen. Und ich glaube, das tut mir auch mal wieder gut. Und das neue Team (kenne ich eh schon) ist cool drauf.

The crucial process to optimize operation is gathering statistics in oracle database. Huỳnh Vương has a nice and brief summary from his *GIF* picture:

One key aspect of successful #DBMS for me is the extensibility with stored procedures, bringing the programming close to the data. Bonus points if the #UDF s integrate neatly with the declarative query language and have proper transaction integration. Think #Neo4j and #Java (ie #APOC), yes, also #Oracle with #PLSQL, Java, and these days also #JavaScript as well as #DuckDB with their plethora of loadable extensions or #Python UDFs.

I've just released the #PLSQL & #SQL formatter settings for SQLcl 23.4.0.

The Good News:
