Päivän agendalla Wertin (Werth Systems ST520) tuuletinmodifikaation viimeistely. Kuvissa esitetty alkuperäinen kansi ja suunnittelemani osissa PETG-filamentilla 3d-tulostettu ja liimaten kasattu korvaava kampe, jossa 120mm tuuletin.

Koneessa on sisällä modifikaationa suunnittelemani PETG-filamentista 3d-tulostettu HDD/SDD -runkolevy. Tuuletintarve juontaa juurensa juuri sisäpuolen modifikaatioon, 2 teran HDD alkoi käymään lämpimänä.

So, took me a lot of design, iteration, a few failed prints and facepalms, and some help from the solder iron in the end, but my bike phone support for my Ulefone 27T pro (a bulky and heavy rugged phone), might be ready for real world testing (and hopefully won't explode on the first bump 😬).

First project of this complexity on the 3D printer, not perfect, surely a simpler design exist, but this is what i got for now.

Put #eSUN #PETG basic/lite Filament in a Box and instantly watch it suck up all humidity inside the box.

That stuff is not usable as filament.

It pops like popcorn, resisted all professional attempts at drying and still want's more.

It can probably be used as silica-gel replacement.

Don't buy.

The graph shows the temperature-compensated absolute humidity in an unheated room-temperature box. As soon as I put the spool inside, humidity dropped while room humidity remained stable.

Par manque de #massif (Chutes de #pin) pour le fond et couvercle, j'ai pris des chutes de #mélaminé blanc 19mm
Du coup, obligé de faire les chants du méla en liserés de vieux #Chêne parce que pourquoi pas
Et la, les détails s'enchaînent :
- Charnières et fixations de poignée (en Chêne lamellé collé) en #impression3D #PETG #fibres de #carbon
- Fermoirs et pieds en laiton vieillis

Spent the better part of the weekend fine tuning the #PETG #filament profile on my #Creality #ender3 #3dprinter.

Now I'm actually getting somewhere!

It may be hard to know what levers to pull, but a systematic and patient approach eventually did the trick. Suddenly stringing went down to a minimum, corner blobs and other imperfections completely disappeared and bridging worked like a charm.

Strategy: Change only one setting at a time, look at the result, adjust and retry. You don't have to finish off an entire #3DBenchy for each iteration, most of the time you'll spot the effect of your tweak during the first few layers.

I have to admit that I'm pretty satisfied with today's result - even though it's still room for improvement.

Should you leave your #filamentdryer box closed or use a spacer to leave a small gap in the lid? To answer the question I measured using a SHT40 sensor, that can accurately measure rel.humidity <15%.

Turns out, it depends.

If the #petg is still wet, aka in the first 8 hours of drying, using a spacer to circulate more (dryer in terms of absolute humidity) ambient air, does seem to accelerate the drying process.

The outside air is colder and therefore has less capacity for humidity than the hot air inside. So if the cold air is heated up, it will have less relative humidity than the hot air inside, which has higher capacity to hold humidity and is slowly filling that capacity as shown by its higher relative humidity.

If we just look at the first 5h when rel.hurel.humidity was still above 10% and continue the decline rate of the blue line in our minds, we can imagine that humidity would have decreased slower if the box had stayed completely closed. E.g. be 2 % higher than where it ended when we opened a gap in the box and them closed it again.

Wie ist denn da die Verarbeitung?
Tipps, welcher Hersteller konstant eine gute Qualität liefert?

Bei #PETG bin ich ja gerade vom Glauben abgefallen was es da an Unterschieden gibt. Das eine läuft (fast) aus der Tüte. Das andere zickt nach Trocknung und kompletter Kalibrierung immer noch.

Отпечатал пачку копий пробной модельки в виде S-образного органайзера для кабелей из PETG.

В этот раз это не достаточно дорогой eSUN, а российский STAR PLAST.

В целом выглядит вполне приятно.
