A useful shortcut for evaluating whether a colleague, vendor, or prospect is not a sociopath and worthy of continued collaboration is to have them imagine the typical #OrgChart turned upside down.

So far, after hundreds of interpersonal experiments, this heuristic has not failed.

The people who reject the traditional command-and-control image tend to seek power & authority, rather than responsibility & accountability.

SuperversiveThe Complex Adaptive Systemic Org Chart — SuperversiveThe most underestimated aspect of business and workforce transformation: the org chart. Per TheOrgChart : The history of the organization chart is interesting as it gives us insight on its original purpose and challenges us to think differently about how we visualize and manage the workforce for

2 of my go-to symptoms of an #organization in #trouble are:

1. the coffee/tea isn't free anymore. We're talking a few $hundred / month here and it ain't gonna save the company if you claw it back.

2. the #orgchart can't be found. Either: it changes so rapidly (which is another bad sign), or because noone can be arsed to update it.

Not a huge thing, just something that when you need it you need it NOW and it is aggravating when it takes you 45m to figure out who does Accounts Payable.

Hey, do we have an updated #orgchart? The one in our wiki is like 3 yrs out of date.

*It will be in our new #Intranet site*.

Is our new Intranet site available?

*No, but it will be soon.*

You've been saying that for the last nineteen months. Can I just have a copy?

*No because its not a PowerPoint we did it in the new Google Site.*

Can you share the new Google Site - or just the "org chart" page?

*No, its not ready to go live yet.*
