During my time at AWS, I built automation for Neuron kernel modules on OpenShift. They need rebuilding for each OpenShift version, which creates ongoing maintenance work. My solution uses GitHub Actions with nightly builds and minimal container images. This removes the manual work and was part of a broader, still ongoing, effort to enable Neuron workloads on OpenShift.

Schade - die Bitnami Images und Helm Charts waren sehr gut zu verwenden.

Scenario:

You are using a mangaged #OpenShift cluster in a cloud environment.

You are specifically told not to tinker with any resources manually.

In every documentation it says: do not shutdown the cluster or any nodes manually because...

it will break everything and also void the support with both the cloud provider and Red Hat.

You are a developer and find a way to do it anyhow.

Not saying that this just happened, but it just happened.

At new workplace. They use #OpenShift. Thinking to create a #OKD cluster at home to play around with.
My main #K8S cluster will still be "normal" kubernetes though. The OKD cluster would just be to learn the differences between normal K8S and OKD/OCP

Tempting, I admit. Now that I have a total of 4 ThinkCentre Tiny available and the free Red Hat Developer subscription for individuals ... I could create a Single Node OpenShift (SNO) ...

I think I have an installable package for #RedHat's microshift for #openSUSE. First step on the way to maybe get #OKD's micro version micro-okd to build for openSUSE, as that is based on microshift. They do funny patching in between. Not sure if I can get that working in our offline build environment.

And soon I will try to properly package the opentelemetry collector! We already have alloy packaged, but I want to understand how the hell their buils logic is. Three repositories and a special build tool were identified so far...
