Good morning!

Looks like lovely day for us to all gather our servers and just… reboot together… as an expression of togetherness. 😊

Don’t leave any behind locked in their containers now! Statically linked apps need fresh air too!

"One of the most significant highlights of #Postfix 3.10 is its forward compatibility with OpenSSL 3.5 post-quantum #cryptography. Administrators can manage algorithm selection directly through the new “tls_eecdh_auto_curves” and “tls_ffdhe_auto_groups” parameters. By setting these parameter values to empty, Postfix effectively defers the algorithm selection to #OpenSSL’s own configuration."

OpenSSL Technical Advisory Committees (TAC) Election Update – Poll Results Are In!

We recently asked the OpenSSL communities whether the upcoming TAC elections should use an open or secret ballot. openssl-communities.org/d/dNEA
The results:
- Open Ballot – 49%
- Secret Ballot – 34%
- No Preference – 17%

With a plurality favoring an open ballot, we will proceed with a publicly visible voting process where individual votes will be recorded and accessible.

Election Timeline:
- March 17 – April 13: Nominations & Candidate Vetting
- April 14 – 27: Voting (Open Ballot)
- April 28: Results Announcement

Thank you to everyone who participated! Your input continues to shape OpenSSL governance.

OpenSSL CommunitiesSeeking Community Input: Open or Secret Ballot for TAC Elections? As we approach the elections for the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), we aim to align our process with our mission and values, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and community involvement. To achieve this, we seek your input on whether the TAC elections should be conducted via an open or secret ballot. For context, during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) elections, we opted for a secret ballot to maintain consistency. This decision was influenced by differing perspectives within our governance structure.Due to time constraints, we were unable to conduct a community poll at that time.We are conducting a poll to gather your opinions on the preferred ballot format for the upcoming TAC elections. Your feedback will help us balance our commitment to transparency with the need to protect voter privacy, ensuring our election process aligns with our shared mission and values. Please take a moment to participate in the poll and share your perspective.

I asked the #OpenSSL team about their new #QUIC API:

Out of curiosity: since you decided to provide a quite different API than what was once offered to you and what several QUIC stacks are already using. How did you come up with this API?

We provide some callbacks for third party QUIC stacks to use in order
to be able to reuse the OpenSSL TLS implementation in that stack. This is
essentially a thin wrapper around the same API that O...
