Interested in #containers, #docker, #OCI and #guix #declarative #configuration?
Watch Giacomo Leidi's talk about self-hosting @forgejo using Guix's container backed configuration. Check it out
His Gocix project shows how to bring together container-based software while benefiting from the resilience of declarative configuration! He has services for #prometheus #grafana #traefik #bonfire and more!
Want #cloudnative but with the power of #declarative configuration? The recoverability of #transactions for system configuration?
Wednesday it's the online #guix meet-up! With a great talk by @paulbutgold
about running docker / oci containers using the Guix configuration system.
His Gocix project has #prometheus, #grafana, #forgejo, #conduit and #traefik examples.

MySQL HeatWave as Vector Store and more
MySQL HeatWave integrates GenAI capabilities into MySQL on OCI. We have demonstrated how HeatWave GenAI can leverage RAG's capability to utilize ingested documents (unstructured data) in LakeHouse and generate responses to specific questions or chats.

Deep dive dans les entrailles de ce qu'est une image de *container*. Super intéressant et finalement pas si sorcier que ça.
Quelques exemples contiennent des coquilles, mais rien de gênant pour la compréhension.

Multicloud: deploying a MySQL HeatWave instance on AWS
Multicloud is a cloud adoption strategy that utilizes services from multiple cloud providers rather than relying on just one. This approach enables organizations to take advantage of the best services for specific tasks, enhances resilience, and helps reduce costs. Additionally, a multicloud strategy offers

One thing I have from immutable (atomic) distros, and is how cumbersome is installing apps that require root permissions.
Supposedly you have to use Distrobox. Even that never worked for me. I always have to resort to `rpm-ostree` and then uninstall it so BootC can update the system. Every single time.
Leaving this up with `latest` tag and no `ONBUILD` or other deprecation warning is fucking criminal
There are five types of users who may try Linux instead of Windows, one a couple of distros for each one of them.
1. Complete newbies: ZorinOS
2. Students and office workers: VanillaOS
3. Windows refugees: Mint
4. Content creators: Mint, Fedora Workstation
5. Programmers: Universal Blue (Fedora Atomic)
Go ahead, change my mind.
Ohhh the Docker rate limit change might directly be the new ex-Oracle CEO.
Hmm
H/t @daedalus and The Crux for covering that
