I note the government's position that people who break the law shouldn't be allowed to vote.
I'm curious to see them apply this to members of parliament who conspire to enshrine a breach of the Bill of Rights Act into law.

@leighelse yes in Canada the Supreme Court also ruled that the prisoner voting ban was inconsistent with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, but they can actually strike down primary legislation, unlike the NZ courts. The only Canadian citizens who can't vote are the Chief Electoral Officer and deputy. #NZpol

As a democratic #socialist the economic system of #China has always intrigued me. The advantages of such an economic model for a country and its citizens are becoming more evident as we witness the social and economic collapse of the west under oligarch dominance.

When we have a week or so of transphobic reckons from Mr Peters, the crypt keeper of Parliament, and pretty tepid responses from the "Opposition", you should be able to count on media for a serious discussion of the issues and perhaps even one (1) actual trans person expressing their views.
Sadly we don't have that, but at least #1of200 #podcast has space for a couple of trans people to say what they think of a minister wanting to legislate them away.
