CoinOfNote<p>Archaeologists in <a href="https://historians.social/tags/Germany" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Germany</span></a> have uncovered a coin hoard from the 30 Years' War. The coins raise questions, not least of which: why are there only three in a large copper cauldron?</p><p>Article: <a href="https://www.coinbooks.org/v28/esylum_v28n30.html#article25" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">coinbooks.org/v28/esylum_v28n3</span><span class="invisible">0.html#article25</span></a></p><p>And from me: How many coins does it take to become a "<a href="https://historians.social/tags/hoard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hoard</span></a>"? CoinOfNote<p>Evans Lifts was a lift or <a href="https://historians.social/tags/elevator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>elevator</span></a> company in the <a href="https://historians.social/tags/UK" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UK</span></a>. Founded in 1919, the company was bought out by Otis in 1982. This is a tool check. Employee 47 would keep these (I have a set of 1-4, I'm not sure how many each person would have had) through their time at the company. When they needed a tool, they hung a <a href="https://historians.social/tags/check" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>check</span></a> on the peg in place of it, so anyone else knew who had that tool.</p><p><a href="https://historians.social/tags/Numismatics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Numismatics</span></a> <a href="https://historians.social/tags/Exonumia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Exonumia</span></a> <a href="https://historians.social/tags/ToolCheck" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ToolCheck</span></a> <a href="https://historians.social/tags/Industry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Industry</span></a> <a href="https://historians.social/tags/History" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>History</span></a> <a href="https://historians.social/tags/Histodons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Histodons</span></a> <a href="https://historians.social/tags/SaturdayNightCoinShow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SaturdayNightCoinShow</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/numismatics" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>numismatics</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/histodon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>histodon</span></a></span></p>
