Dawid Mikulski<p>Kończę swój krótki eksperyment z używaniem <a href="https://pol.social/tags/nouveau" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nouveau</span></a> zamiast sterownika własnościowego nvidii. Wnioski są takie, że przynajmniej w moim przypadku nouveau nie jest już złe. Przy zwykłym codziennym używaniu kąkutera zapominałem już że nie używam własnościowego, nie ma żadnej różnicy. Hardkorowym graczem nie jestem, ale przy graniu w MC bez shaderów nie widziałem także żadnej różnicy, a przy graniu na różnych shaderach ta wydajność już&nbsp;była różna, ale nadal grywalna. W zależności od shaderka nouveau pracowało tak luuuuźno szacując na 60-90% (hehe) wydajności stera własnościowego. Także nie ma tragedii. Ale oczywiście zależy mi na shaderkach i dobrych klatkach, więc eksperyment ten kończę i wracam na własnościowy ster.</p>

XD Ostatnim razem jak z niego korzystałem, to w Minecrafcie miałem spore lagi, ale na pulpicie już mniejsze, a jeszcze poprzednim razem miałem lagi w połączeniu z całym zielonym ekranem. A teraz nie widzę większej różnicy między nimi, a tymi oficjalnymi nvidii. Co prawda nie jestem jakimś&nbsp;graczem, Minecraft to jedyne w co gram, ale odpaliłem go jeszcze na jakiś cięższych shaderach i nic. Artemis<p>I think it's a testament to <a href="https://toot.cafe/tags/Nouveau" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nouveau</span></a> drivers that, after upgrading to proprietary <a href="https://toot.cafe/tags/NVidia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NVidia</span></a> drivers, the performance increase was basically unnoticeable for me.<br>Some games got more stable 30/60 but nothing too fancy.<br>(Then again I have a fairly crappy laptop GPU…)</p>

mittorn<p>Rebuilding mesa with nouveau support makes it break other drivers! I using different mesa version, switching with glvnd in development purposes.<br>Few days after found that some apps gets segfault while trying to enumerate GL_EXTENSIONS<br>After 2 hours of debugging found that libgbm is linked to libglapi.so, making gallium dispatcher loaded bedore glvnd driver select in apps, using libgbm directly...<br>Replacing gbm by amber implementation fixed this...<br>But why libgbm is depended on glapi? It makes using multiple mesa implementations with single libgbm impossible!<br>Moreover, this breaks mesa in way, that app cannot recocver error.
