It feels really good to break free from Big tech.
4.13% of Microsoft comes from github. 3.03% of Google comes from Google fonts and gstatics.( they are bing blocked)

I am blocking lots of crap with #uBlock, #eBlocker, #DNS blockers etc.
Here one statistic from my iPad with #nextdns. And still my internet works and I can use it without harm. I show these numbers in my #privacy courses, when people tell me, that they are afraid nothing would work anymore.

Its the little things that give me so much joy

A nice touch in #NextDNS is the graph showing #GAFAM dominance of your #DNS lookups.

As part of #degoogle strategy - this is really helpful. Google was over 20% a month ago. #Microsoft I'll tackle another day as that's currently pretty much required by my employer.

Much of the traffic to these orgs is actually blocked by NextDNS in its role to restrict tracking, ads etc.

As with the other analytics provided - I'd like to be able to dig a bit deeper than is already possible.

Après 2 mois de test de #NextDNS, je confirme que c'est très efficace, mais il faut désactiver le filtrage IA qui allonge considérablement les temps de réponse.
Sur le router à la maison, sur les périphériques mobiles... NextDNS partout.

Filtering unwanted web content on #wifi school with #pihole , instead of paying for an external service (#nextdns , ...), is it crazy or actually realistic?

I stop every process I "can" on my #iphone.

I check my #nextdns logs.

I start #synology #SynologyPhotos app.

I refresh my #nextdns logs: 2 blocked attempts to connect to app-measurement.com and googleapis.com

I moved all my servers at home over to their own profile in #NextDNS. They no longer go through my local #Blocky instance. Other devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, etc...) seem to be loading services much quicker now.

We’re staying in a hotel, and I have to disable NextDNS to access their wifi. Otherwise it won’t authenticate the wifi connection and no web pages will load. Very strange.

Discovered another new app that actually is pretty useful. I use #NextDNS but occasionally I need to switch to the default DNS and that is where this handy open source utility comes in to play:

Finally got around to flashing #OpenWrt on my Linksys wrt32x router. I've gotten by with the stock firmware until now, but the ability to run regular Cron jobs on my router to keep my linked IP between #NextDNS and #no-IP up to date is pretty cool. What tips do people have for me?
