Since I lost a heap of time searching for my sunglasses, I was in a hurry to reach Goondiwindi before dark and didn't take any more photos along the way.

However, the ride from Narrabri to Moree was fantastic - definitely a highlight of the trip for me. 110 km/hr, dead flat, and almost completely a straight line. You can see all around you to the horizon, with mountains on the eastern side, and cotton fields here and there. The kind of cruising I love. 😁

When I took those photos from the Mt. Kaputar summit, I felt like they really didn't do justice to the view - so I also captured a short panning video.

This is maybe the best summit view I've personally seen - definitely the best one where I could just ride straight to the top instead of hiking. 😁

My sunglasses fell off the bike near the summit of Mt. Kaputar. I looked for an hour, but just couldn't find them again.

I was sitting at the summit, figuring out where I could buy a new pair, when this couple from Yeppoon QLD arrived in their camper to tell me they found them! Somebody else found them first and put them on a stump that I must've walked past, but this couple saw me searching and realised the sunglasses were mine. Real lifesavers! ❤️

I received a recommendation from @MorpheusB to check out Mount Kaputar, an hour's ride east of Narrabri NSW, as I passed by.

It was well worth the visit! These photos aren't even from the summit - I'll share those soon.

The summit is accessible by road. The first 5.8 km from the base is compacted dirt with loose rocks, but the Harley took it like a champ with its street tyres. The rest is bitumen, but there are basically no guard rails the whole way.

Got up bright and early, with plans to ride to Goondiwindi QLD.

My original plan was to visit Port Macquarie NSW followed by Brisbane QLD, but I nixed them due to forecasted rain. I already got enough of that this week! I love the flexibility of solo travel; I can change my plans on a whim. 😁

Tamworth NSW is great to visit for a ride. The roads are extremely well maintained, and the highways in and out take you over rolling hills with pleasant views. It's also fairly green. Reminds me a bit of Innisfail in North Queensland. I could ride around here all day if I had the time.

After 560 km and over 6 hours of riding, I arrived in Tamworth NSW! 🎉

I decided to book a motel room to make sure I can dry everything after the rain. Also because I underestimated how damn cold it gets down here. I didn't even pack a sleeping bag or jumper. 🥶

The Tamworth countryside is lovely, and the highway very well-maintained. I was in a hurry to arrive before sunset, but it would've been nice to stop more along the way.

Once I reached Texas, it started bucketing down rain. Glad I bought wet weather gear for this trip. In the past, I've just embraced the rain, but down here it's bloody cold!

I took my wet weather gear off when the sun came back out - only to put it back on again 30 minutes later when another storm came overhead. I didn't roll my swag very well, and it got a bit damp inside.
