Carlo Acutis, who died of leukemia at age 15 in 2006, is set to be canonized by the Catholic Church at the end of this month. That means he'll be the first millennial saint. Aftermath's Riley Macleod looks at how Acutis became a saint, and the significance of how "current" he is, from his clothing to his enjoyment of gaming. "Talking to someone on the 'inside' of the Church showed me that, even if there is something a bit eye-rolling about a lot of this, Acutis can also remind people of the sanctity of the everyday, where a religious life can live alongside a conscious approach to secular hobbies like video games," Macleod says.

My son is coming over later today and he'll be passing a store that has a thing I can't get at my usual store, so I asked him to pick it up for me.
My #Millennial GF laughed and said "that is so #genx . Anyone else would have found a link to the product online and sent that, but you had to take a photo of yourself pointing to the thing." "What, I was in the fridge it was literally quicker!?"

Day nine cont: The Opposition has a #candidate problem.

Not enough diversity. Amelia is a good candidate, The #AFR describes Amelia as bringing, a “#Millennial edge”. Right pedigree (Dicks Grand niece), #OxfordUniversity educated, lives locally. The problem, I’m a renter …and I’m also a home owner that I failed to disclose.

Xennials (1977–1983): The Micro-Generation That Still Gets Sh*t Done
We made mixtapes, survived Y2K, and didn’t get our first phones until after we learned how to make eye contact. No GPS, no autocorrect—just street smarts, scraped knees, and showing up to work hungover without crying about it on TikTok.
We’re the last generation with common sense and tech skills.
If you know, you know. Who else is part of this elite glitch in the matrix? 🙋🏼‍♂️

#millennial nostalgia for indie grime and Four Loko as a badge of honor gives me shades of the same cringe I get from #boomers talking about the 60's (that they weren't a part of).

Partially because I was in Williamsburg in the aughts, where that shit was concentrated, but also cause there's the GenX part of me that thinks nostalgia of any sort of dangerously opposed to protective apathy.

I'm flipping through a borrowed book called The Sourcebook of Contemporary Architecture and, speaking as a millennial, it is *heartbreaking.*

All of the designs within are from 18-25 years ago - around the time I was becoming an adult - and I have to admit, they all feel like home. Not literally - I've never been so rich as to be able to live in a place designed by an 𝓐𝓻𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓽𝓮𝓬𝓽™. But spiritually...?

These buildings feel like the present and also - somehow - the future. But they're decades old now, and diagnostic of an era when the future so obviously was brighter and better than the present. All this millennial hope and cheer packed into one book is a powerful cocktail that leaves me with the bitterness of mortality, decay, regret, and injustice.

Bleh. I used to believe in this stuff. Goddamn...

Perché in fondo, crescere è sopravvalutato.

I’ve seen some wholesome videos of dads and sons at Pokémon conventions. The kids want to buy or trade cards with vendors.

Well now that there are millennial dads, the dads are super into it too.

I love that our generation did not grow out of “childish” things.

Though i played those "Early Gen X" consoles with friends or older cousins, the first ones that were "mine" were "Core Gen X". It was the Apple IIe, the Atari VCS, and the 4MHz IBM PC clone that really captured my heart. And we used the Commodore PET at school.

Which one was yours?
