Meine Gateways SNG1, SNG2 und auch MVWM sind deshalb hin und wieder online.</p><p>Mit meinem mobile Node bin ich allerdings erst einmal wieder offline.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/Notfallkommunikation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Notfallkommunikation</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/Mesh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mesh</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/WAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WAN</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/LoRa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LoRa</span></a></p>
Memo<p>Ich habe heute die beiden Gateways SNG1 (868 MHz) und SNG2 (433 MHz) wieder reaktiviert.</p><p>Da der Frühling wohl ab dem kommenden Wochenende Einzug halten wird, und ich deshalb auch wieder längere Radtouren unternehmen werde, habe ich mein Every-Day-Node, den SenseCAP Card Tracker T1000-E auch wieder gegen den RAK 4631 getauscht und bin wohl auch wieder öfters online ¯\_(ツ)_/¯</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/Notfallkommunikation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Notfallkommunikation</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/Mesh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mesh</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/WAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WAN</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/LoRa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LoRa</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/RAK" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RAK</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/SenseCAP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SenseCAP</span></a></p>
Julian Oliver<p>Excited to have a T-Beam Supreme land on my desk, adding to the mesh family here. This model has a U-BLOX GNSS module, which when combined with RTK and a local base station, can supposedly provide centimeter-level positional accuracy. Performance already impressive. Will be building this into a portable solar-powered and weatherproof unit for use in comms blackouts, emergencies, reporting positional info, send/recv texts. Might also throw on some sensors as it has serial pinouts <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a></p>

DeltaWye<p>I’m interested in getting into <a href="https://tiggi.es/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> I have been talking with <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://techhub.social/@SpaceMacSpiff" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>SpaceMacSpiff</span></a></span> a little about it in the past.</p>
gafu<p>(2/2) <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/lora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lora</span></a> 868 2 element helix cavity filter</p><p>This is the resulting filter response.</p><p>I set the marker to near bands i have seen used in the field to see how much they would get attenuated. (Blue line picture)</p><p>To get this filter "good for transmit/ low vswr" its much more delicate to adjust, because you see in the picture with the blueband yellow line, the perfect impedance match is a sharp point only, and need to get this exactly right.</p><p>At the end it was positioning the white wire adds at the top of thr coils in very little adjustments, fraction of millimeters.<br>More up/down oder more inwards the coil or outwards the housing. </p><p>Both coils must be very perfect adjusted in an iterative process to get this result, including get the feed point right at the bottom.</p><p>For the close 900-920 cellphone 2G/3G/4G frequencys a additional notch filter can cut these down.</p>
gafu<p>(1/2) I got results with my<br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/lora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lora</span></a> 868 2 element helix cavity filter</p><p>The window in the middle part was way to small and made 20dB loss.<br>Later i played with this and installed a 8mm high little wall at the bottom between the coils and got 3dB better filter results. <br>Bigger wall would add to insertion loss.</p><p>I made the coils from 1,5mm² copper wire with 84mm lenght and got surprised with 930mhz resonance, so i soldered a thinner wire at the ends to make it longer, and cut it down until get the right resonance frequency.</p><p>Wound the coils around a 10mm drillbit shaft.</p><p>Used direct coupling to the coils, iam familiar with this from j-antenna and inverted-F antenna builds.</p>

Brian Enigma<p>Trying out a <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a> radio in Portland and realizing I have no idea what I’m doing.</p>
gafu<p>I was on a high spot yesterday, to play with spectrum analyser tool and a 30dB LNA as rx preamp connected to my car roof 5/8 antenna.</p><p>Had one <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> node in 10km distance. Maybe the little spikes in the middle came from there.</p><p>There are commercial digital tv and radio towers nearby (9-15km distance) with 40-50dB signals over the noisefloor at my setup.</p><p>What iam courious about: how much i need to attenuate these unwanted signals to get the lora trx chip receive low strenght signals succesfully at such a place? </p><p>Later i switched to a 1262based neshtastic node and got heard 20km away, but cant read him at my place full of high power signals.</p><p>Is 40dB attenuation sufficient? Or on the low side? Or great?</p>

shortwavesurfer2009<p>I have really been enjoying <a href="https://digitaldarkage.cc/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a>. We have a router 3.7 miles away like 200ft up a tower and during some nights I have seen nodes over 300 miles away.</p><p>Also I have been running my node for 17 days on a cellphone backup battery. The thing absolutely sips power.</p>
