David Riedman created an open-source research project called the K–12 School Shooting Database. It’s comprehensive and multi-peer reviewed. And his methodology is water tight.

This data is so solid, it can apparently boil down the characteristics so that school shootings are almost completely predictable. Yeah. Mind blown.

Sigh. Another day, another (almost) mass shooter. A guy wearing a tactical vest and carrying a long gun tried to attack a church but he was thwarted by a parishioner and a security guard. He's dead, the guard wounded but not seriously. Of course, the cops say the would-be shooter "appears to have mental issues."

It's the fucking GUNS, dammit!

This one was *walking distance from my house* and it is certainly **not** in a "high-crime" area, just a typical suburban locale.
