Hey, I've got another #FreeCAD problem once again. 😺
So far, the learning curve has been steep, and after each problem I solved, another one emerged.
This one though, I don't know if it is solveable.
What I want to do is attaching these Xes between the bent angle irons, matching the holes.
I created the holes via SketchOnCurve in the Curves Workbench (took me 2 days), and now every time I create a fixed joint the x just snaps to the Origin.

I had a bunch of small command strips and no hooks to hang my kids' advent calendar.

The models on printables are nice looking, but generally have bad print orientations or require supports or have various other issues.

Here's mine: https://www.printables.com/model/1097431-command-strip-hooks-small

Easily printable on its side for correct layer orientations for the loading, libre license, and FreeCAD file included, but is chunky enough that it should scale well enough in a slicer for other command strip sizes.

My kids named my van the Millennium Falcon, so I felt it would be fun to label her with the name.

Slicers have gotten so good at customizing models that I designed these in @FreeCAD specifically to be easily customized using slicer primitives and is printable on smaller printers (~250mm beds)

Libre license, libre formats, share, modify, enjoy.

A lot of people have done versions of this tool, but none of them were right for my calipers or the magnets I had on hand.

And worse: None of them used an open CAD format that I could edit to correct that.

Here is my libre version of a radius tool for the end of your calipers, print, modify, enjoy: printables.com/model/1067982-c

(I'm counting this for #FreeCADFriday because I drew it yesterday, I just didn't print it until today)

On ST:TNG and many other scifi shows of the 80s/90s freezer spacers like this were frequently used as grates, mechanical texturing elements, or (as in this example) with light behind.

I've managed to put together a passable CAD model of this iconic bit of plastic. Download free in various formats (including an 1:12 scale STL file): mangledpixel.com/freezer_space

Today's project was a stand for a set of watchmaker's screwdrivers. I made two variations because I'm not sure exactly what height I prefer working at and I wanted to try both a low entry and a high entry option.

As I mentioned earlier, @FreeCAD 1.0RC1 was a delight today and made this super easy.

If you want one it's on printables: printables.com/model/1011931-w

I've had this assembled for a week now, but you know, life…

I have a 20-foot telescopic pole that’s threaded on the end for various attachments. There isn’t a pruner made specifically for it, so I fired up and designed an adapter that I could 3D print.

It took a few iterations on the threads to get a good fit. I also redesigned it with the smaller diameter offset for easier . My first version was concentric and required supports, which was annoying.

I'm happy to announce, that I've published the snap-fit case for the rainbow butterfly soldering kit I've been working on the last couple of weeks 🦋 . It's a 100% #openHardware project licensed under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0+. You can find the full documentation including the native #3Dcad files from #FreeCAD, photos, screenshots, STEP files and so on here: gitlab.com/M4x__/rainbow-butte

Happy printing!
