The Mac version of Office has a menubar for accessing some (not all) functions at least. In this example I could just say “In the menubar click ‘Format’, click ‘Style…’, then click ‘Style Organizer’.”#MSOffice #microsoft

Me: “Look in the middle of the toolbar to find the style gallery (the row of squares with different fonts). On the bottom right of the style gallery, click the little diagonal arrow (not the larger vertical down facing arrow above it!) to open the styles list. Look at the bottom of the list, and notice three little icons…”

@heiseonlineenglish Microsoft are right about MS Office being "impractical and too expensive" (and that is not even the worst part about it). They got the solution wrong though. The practical and free and Free (as in freedom and opensource and privacy respecting) is something like LibreOffice → https://www.libreoffice.org/

Argh, ich hatte bei Libreoffice testweise die alternative Menüleiste eingeschaltet. Man kann das tatsächlich so konfigurieren, dass es wie MSOffice aussieht. War gar nicht so leicht, den Menüpunkt Benutzeroberfläche wiederzufinden und default wieder einzustellen.

Letzteres erinnert mich an #Opensource und konventionell.
Mit deiner Einstellung hätte es z.B #LibreOffice nie gegeben weil ja #MSOffice überall eingesetzt wird.
Und bereits Anfang nächstes Jahres ist sogar die Justiz in #SH auf #Linux und #LibreOffice umgestellt
Statt geht nicht einfach damit anfangen.

Eigentlich ist #openstreetmap wie alles andere auch
Ein, #Auto, Office Paket (egal ob #LibreOffice oder #MSoffice), neues #ERad oder sogar der #backofen haben alle eins gemeinsam
Alle haben etliche (sogar 1000de) Funktionen
Wirklich benötigt werden idr. nur eine Handvoll
Aber man muss sich mal damit beschäftigen und diese Funktionen im eigenen Profil speichern

Is there a way to fix the terrible copy/paste from #obsidian and #msoffice ?
I take notes in obsidian and it's a dream, I highlight names and so on. When I paste into Outlook it looks great until I edit anything (removing redactions and so on) and as soon as I do almost all the formatting is wiped. I can't seem to figure it out. I've tried copy as HTML, I've tried changing settings in Outlook. Any ideas?

Cath Ik bedoel; ik weet nog dat we op mijn werk overstapten van #WordPerfect #WP naar Microsoft Office. Wat een hel was dat en ik vloekte heel wat af. maar uiteindelijk wende ik ook aan de kleuterige #MS-interface.
Nu gebruik ik natuurlijk #LibreOffice
I prefer to outright buy a license. I don’t want to deal with subscription fees or advertising. I dislike how everything is becoming a rental instead of outright ownership.

+ mein #arbeitgeber als eben solcher großer Dienstleister etwas daran ändern könnte, aber das verf***t nochmal nicht tut.
Einer unserer ehemaligen CEOs sitzt/saß sogar im Gott verdammten EU-Parlament.
Größter Streitpunkt für Unternehmen ist die mangelnde Kompatibilität von alternativen Office Lösungen zu #microsoft Dateiformaten.
1. Implementiert MS seit Jahren auch ODF in #msoffice.
2. ODF ist ISO standardisiert. Warum einigt man sich nicht einfach darauf?
