N-gated Hacker News<p>📡✨ Behold, the revolutionary Airpass: because changing your MAC address is apparently rocket science for the rest of us plebs. 🤖💻 Who knew that circumventing <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/WiFi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WiFi</span></a> time limits involved such groundbreaking technology? Thank you, Tiago Alves, for this Nobel-worthy contribution to human civilization! 🙄🏆<br><a href="https://airpass.tiagoalves.me/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">airpass.tiagoalves.me/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Airpass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Airpass</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Technology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Technology</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Innovation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Innovation</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TiagoAlves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TiagoAlves</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/NobelWorthy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NobelWorthy</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MACAddress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MACAddress</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/HackerNews" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HackerNews</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ngated" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ngated</span></a></p>

Mika<p>It's pretty ironic, the most consistently high quality <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/LMG" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#LMG</a> channel, <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/MacAddress" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MacAddress</a> is the one currently sunsetting or on hiatus while the main channel, <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/LTT" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#LTT</a><span> continues publishing garbage videos. From the comments, it seems that the reason is bcos the primary/sole host/writer is leaving - if that's true, I really hope he'll make a channel of his own.<br><br>Update:<br><br>He apparently got laid off, that's bizarre. The theory in the replies is that the Mac Address channel just isn't profitable (prolly cos it's </span><a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Apple" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Apple</a><span> centric), despite, again, being the one that offered the highest quality content.<br><br></span>🔗 <a href="https://xcancel.com/horstpwr/status/1857951155537789249" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://xcancel.com/horstpwr/status/1857951155537789249</a></p>
