Time for another round of #HireAlice! I've had some prospects, but I'm running out of unemployment benefits and need something soon.

With a lot of (big) tech companies slashing DEI and removing trans/queer-inclusive wording from their policies, the pool of companies I'm willing to work for has become a lot smaller lately.

So, if you're a hiring manager (or can put me in touch with one) for any senior data positions, please let me know.

Thank you all so much :floofHeart:

LGBTQIA.Space🅰🅻🅸🅲🅴 (🌈🦄) (@alice@lgbtqia.space)Dear Fediverse, I need some help to survive in this capitalist dystopia, which means I need money :neocat_laugh_sweat: Specifically I'm looking for a fulfilling position focused on helping disadvantaged folx. Although one that pays well and isn't evil would do in a pinch 💁‍♀️ Many of y'all know me and what I stand for, but here's the pitch anyway: What I offer: - like 15 years working with uncomfortably large data - experience as head of data, head of analytics, sr. manager of data science, and sr. analyst across several industries (primarily gaming, but also fintech, construction, AI, and B2B/B2C/C2C marketplaces) - skills in SQL, Python, statistics, psychology, management, data science, data privacy, research, roguelikes, and other useful things - a unique blend of work and education history that make me really good at predicting how people react to things What I need: - a full-time, salaried position paying $200k+ USD (with flexible time off) - remote work (but I'm fine occasionally visiting a Seattle-based office) What I prefer: - working on novel projects, for organizations that make humanity better in a tangible way - working with departments like trust & safety, fraud-prevention, user experience, or R&D - not working for departments like sales & marketing Finally, thank you all for being amazing and supportive 💝 💝 I'm so lucky to have the friends and contacts I've made here, and I really appreciate any help you can give. (You can also just throw money at me if you want 💁‍♀️ buymeacoffee.com/alice.watson) #GetFediHired #LFW #LookingForWork #Data #Analytics #DataPrivacy #PleaseBoost

By the by, I'm a #SoftwareDev #LookingForWork - I'm Sydney based, although willing to relocate to Vatican City for the right role. I do everything from frontend to backend to infra, I love filling in gaps and uplifting my team and delving into scary legacy code.

Best with JS/Perl/C++/Java but can learn anything at this point. The tech is not as important as the team. I'm a big fan of observability and internal tooling to help the Support team.

Hey I'm still looking for work.
I've applied to a lot of places in my area and I'm getting nothing.

I'm a programmer at heart, but I've also been looking for regular entry-level jobs because there haven't been any coding positions open at my level as far as I could tell.

If you can offer me a job, it might save my butt. And if you can't offer me a job, could you at least share this post?

I live 30 minutes away from Bellevue if that helps.

There are two types of company:
1. Those who say that "a developer's ability to think and learn new things is more important than knowing a single framework."
2. Those who are hiring and require knowledge of a specific framework or tech stack.

I'm available for contract Drupal work.

I'm happy working as part of a team or in isolation. I've worked on massive international websites you've probably heard of, to tiny one-offs you'll never visit, and everything in between.

While my happy place is front end Drupal development (theming and site building), I'm able to turn my hand to most things.

If you've anything you need help with, no matter how large or small, please do get in touch.

Thanks.

So France announced welcoming tech researchers in light of growing hostility to ones here in the states. And other places would likely to be happy to brain drain the U.S. as well.

Anyone have any leads on a place outside the U.S. that might welcome educational gaming / user interface design / virtual reality visualization researchers and developers?

Bonus points if it’s a place where you can get by with knowing only English and a little Spanish.

Hello, at the end of my mission as a CS Ambassador for Rituals (cosmetics), I will be available for work again. That will be end of April. And my availability will be from Monday to Thursday.

So if you (or a company you know) need someone who speaks French and English fluently, who uses Salesforce and who really strives to give the best customer experience, let me know.

And of course, sharing would be really helpful.
