@hbond The state of #Android bothers me so much that it affected a dream I had.

A non-technical friend checked the time on her phone. I noticed it was running fucking #UbuntuTouch. I asked how long she had been using that OS and she didn't even understand what I meant.

I literally dream about the day where #linuxonmobile has come so far that people that don't know about it can use it. It can't come fast enough.

Following accounts like @pmOS_devices gives me hope.

Weekly GNU-like #MobileLinux Update (25/2025): Packed with Goodies
https://linmob.net/weekly-update-25-2025/

This week really was something: #postmarketOS ship 25.06 (which, among other things, adds systemd) and work to reverse-engineer #VoLTE, #FuriOS 13.1.0 lands with Open-Store support (for #UbuntuTouch apps) and plenty of other improvements, #PlasmaMobile share detailed log of all the fixes and improvements they managed to land in the past year (and what's to come), Jolla announce free #SailfishOS updates for all #JollaC2 customers, I managed to interview #Liberux about their Nexx phone - but there's way more still, including a packed Apps section. Enjoy!

LINux on MOBileWeekly GNU-like Mobile Linux Update (32/2025): Pipeline progressDebian 13 released, Librem 5 camera improvements (coming soon, I guess), Ubuntu Touch Q&A and Sailfish OS Community News, FrOSCon coming up and a lot more stuff! Enjoy!

FuriOS 13.1.0 includes support for installing apps from the OpenStore (open-store.io/), changing encryption password, installation of Ubuntu Touch dual boot and Android quick settings. This release also fixes some GPU crashes, modem crashes, MMS issues and fingerprint stability improvements and kernel updates to improve overall system stability and performance.

OpenStoreOpenStoreOpenStore - The open source app store for Ubuntu Touch

The latest 13.0.9 update on #FLX1 (furilabs.com/update-13-0-9/) supports two-way clipboard - copying text from Android apps inside Waydroid to native apps and vice-versa. In fact, I copied that link using that feature😉

When I bought this phone a few months ago, I prepared myself to wait for a couple of years to get this done. But it was added pretty soon.

The developers of @furilabs are doing a good job!

EDIT: Thanks to someone commenting with an invite to the GrapheneOS discord server, this has been figured out! the terminal app doesn't work with a VPN enabled right now.

Is anyone else who uses #grapheneos having trouble with the new Terminal app not loading the terminal when the app launches? I will go to settings, enable developer options, enable the Linux shell, let the app install, open the Terminal app, install the dependencies and whatever else makes up the ~800MB of data that it asks me to confirm I want to download at first launch, and then I just get an eternal "Loading the terminal" page on the first tab in the app. I have tried reinstalling/re-enabling it several times, and at this point I have given up and installed Termux to satisfy my itch for a terminal on my phone. I'd appreciate any help, I just went to the @GrapheneOS website and looked for a section of the issue tracker that might cover it and couldn't see any that might, and I also went to the "Contact" section, and couldn't find a way to contact them or even post to a community for support. I love the OS overall, and this is the one and only issue I have had, and I would love to get it fixed or for them to release a patch fix for it eventually. Thanks!

It has been a while since I worked on mainlining the Tab S5e...
I have SD card functional and wifi + bluetooth are working now with the propper firmware blobs (only wifi 2.4 GHz working for now).

Currently working on the display panel...

Also I made the first MR so others can follow the progress.

@cas @agx I am using my OnePlus 6 with postmarkeOS as daily driver nowadays. And I follow the development of the oroject since over 3 years.
Currently I am in the process of mainlining the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e my self and I can see clearly now how much work and effort has been spend on the project.
I just wan't to say thanks for all the hard work, you and the whole team, spend to bring the project where it is today! And it is getting better every day!

Is anyone using the #cameractrl overlay on #postmarketos #gnomemobile ? I'm trying to use it on my #oneplus6 but I don't understand how is it supposed to work: in the screenshot on github (https://gitlab.com/NekoCWD/cameractrl) I see it superimposed on the camera app screen, but if I launch the camera and then the overlay, I see the desktop background instead of the camera app...
