#LOLSob just got unsolicited email from ActBlue proper, which I can only describe as... I dunno what the hell it is. A pep talk?

Not from a campaign, but addressed to an email which I believe was for a donation to Sanders's first primary campaign. And it's not that I blame them. It's just that this is a thriving semi-commercial entity with direct lines to, and in constant communication with, the entirety of the Dem caucus.

Why the fuck are they bothering to lean on me?

Call your goddamn congresscritters, Regina.

You get called back.

I do not.

I should not look at LinkedIn, but I'm all in for the #lolsob that this place gives. Today:

"101 Vibe coding course"

Funny, but only if u don't realise that this stuff only makes u even less knowledgeable than all the coding bootcamps from before.

Next: "Don't become a handcrafted shoemaker in the age of industrialisation - embrace the machine"

That hits straight into the face of workers. We are not stupid, I do use machines.

But I want to know both how they work and my craft.

I mean, *my* passwords are all gibberish now because password manager. But I didn't get all wound up about it even when I was using mnemonics, because Part II of my threat model has always been about how infrastructure ranges from hostile to unreliable, and you cannot assume where anything is on that spectrum.

Part I is about how everything that hits a wire (or, later, the airwaves) must be considered permanently accessible by at least one potential adversary. You have to go quite a ways down to get to anything that has to do with me in particular. 😉

Probably cloudflare oughta be considered the hostile end of the spectrum, given their role as privately held public utility. Privately held public utilities are the second most dangerous thing about capitalism after the perpetual general-purpose limited-liability form of corporation.

But it's not as if anything about the web, or regular (TLS but hosted) email, should be considered private.

The Cloudflare Blog · Password reuse is rampant: nearly half of observed user logins are compromisedNearly half of observed login attempts across websites protected by Cloudflare involved leaked credentials. The pervasive issue of password reuse is enabling automated bot attacks and account takeovers on a massive scale.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is playing at Hill Auditorium tonight and I’m not there because I neglected to get tickets and it’s been completely sold out for months #lolsob

However

It used to be an annual tradition for J@LCO band members to drift in to the local jazz club — Bird of Paradise — after midnight and step up and play with the locals

So I’m at Blue Llama for the late set with my fingers crossed
