New keyboard week.
This is not going to replace my wonderful office moonlander keyboard -but I want something I can travel with and use with other computers in the house. With 3x Bluetooth connections & a wireless USB-A dongle, I should get the device connectivity.
All that remains is programming the bindings so it matches what I am used to. I might have to get a bit low-level
#keyboards #computer
Ten billion NORMAL computer #keyboards, but this one’s “ready for #Mac”. Goody goody gumdrops! (twiddles terminally flaccid pudendum between thumb and little finger)
New keyboard! This one is a Nuphy Kick75. Low-profile, 75% format (still getting used to the arrow keys being so close). Got red switches and it feels _really_ nice to type on.
The keycaps, sound and overall feel is reminiscent of early Apple keyboards (though not scooped).
Bought a new keyboard for home as I plan to use my beloved Moonlander at work instead. Went for a QMK Keychron keyboard which is lovely in itself, but trying things out I am now holding a completely new appreciation for ZSA’s firmware configurator, which is what I use to configure the Moonlander. It is MILES ahead of the QMK/VIA configurator. I had no idea.
I thought the ZSA configurator, being based on QMK, would be similar to what I could expect for any QMK keyboard. I was wrong.
It is like comparing the latest set of flight controls with a bicycle.
