Chris<p><span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://mastodon.social/@nickperks" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@nickperks</a></span> <span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://mastodon.social/@danneidle" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@danneidle</a></span> In addition to the difficulties for vulnerable people highlighted contacting the HMRC is a bit of a nightmare.</p><p>When you phone them you first have to listen to a very long message that basically tells you that the web site it quicker, the preferred meads of contact, and can probably do what you want (you've probably already spent an hour convincing yourself that it can't).</p><p>Then you have to go through a long list of options that are confusing, I mean is it a PAYE or tax code query?</p><p>Then you need to wait and listen to music for half an hour at least, before getting an answer.
