The topic was spherical projections.</p><p>I contributed by covering Fuller's Dymaxion map with hexes at 100 miles (160 km) per hex. Sunder-Raj<p>For those of you who have regular tetrahedra-packing on your minds because of <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/@johncarlosbaez" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>johncarlosbaez</span></a></span>’s post (<a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/@johncarlosbaez/109739769180023737" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">mathstodon.xyz/@johncarlosbaez</span><span class="invisible">/109739769180023737</span></a>), here is a reminder of how irritated I am that a regular <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/icosahedron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>icosahedron</span></a> cannot be constructed from 20 regular <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/tetrahedra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tetrahedra</span></a>.</p><p>For some reason, I occasionally feel the need to mention that again…and again…😁.</p>
