I guess Labour has the same problems as the SPD in Germany: cutting the welfare state and pursuing neoliberal policies.
In this case, the Minister for Homelessness evicted her tenants just to increase the rent by £700.
No surprise these parties are losing more and more voters.

This is what we give tax breaks to — property speculation. Mega-landlords holding dozens of homes, collecting rents, and riding tax perks, while interest rates and housing costs crush ordinary Australians.

We need to call for a MORATORIUM on ALL short stay accommodation.
Australia: we are in a #HousingCRISIS
Moratorium on short term stays. The problem with temporary housing for the homeless is temporary accommodation still makes them #homeless.
This is a CRISIS! #HousingNow #auspol

A worthy cause if you're in Ontario. Tell your MPP and the housing minister to legalize safe single stair buildings (the kind you see in places like Europe). We don't have to have just single family homes and sky scrapers.

The act of generosity comes amid an avalanche of people needing help with housing and cost of living.
“We're on a priority housing list, which has a two year wait. We are still trying to get housing. It's just hard.”

Rushanara Ali has resigned as Homelessness Minister after evicting tenants from her property — despite championing a policy that would outlaw exactly that behaviour.
Her decision to step down may be principled, but it exposes a troubling gap in Labour’s moral leadership. A GAP?
Pablo says : as a gap = (noun) an opening in a solid structure or surface; a cleft or breach
So Liebour is a solid line of gaps!

Albo is in one of the lifeboats, and his entire government is defined by that feeling.
He's never winding back tax breaks that might rock his boat!

Hey frens,
879 still needed!
if the eviction process begins that can impact her ability to get housing again.
She's lost so much this year, please don't let her lose home too.
As community, acknowledge her and send aid, please.
Thank you to everyone reading this.

Brilliant.
Just brilliant.
About time the fat-cat landlords had their wings clipped. They've been creaming off profits and tax breaks for too long

Australia keeps propping up house prices with demand-boosting gimmicks, while affordability spirals out of reach. Meanwhile, NZ is showing what real reform looks like—letting the market cool and celebrating falling prices. Maybe it’s time we stopped fearing a crash and started valuing affordability.

At last – a sensible, targeted reform to negative gearing.
Of Australia’s 2.26 million property investors, only 13.5% would be affected by the ACTU’s proposal to limit tax breaks to one investment property. The remaining 86.5% – including all those who only own one rental – would keep their benefits.
So who loses? Mainly the top end of town: the minority with multiple properties, who currently claim the lion’s share of the $10.4 billion a year in losses. Over $4.8 billion of those claims come from people with two or more properties.
Meanwhile, this modest reform could raise $1.5 billion annually – enough to fund tens of thousands of affordable homes.
Let’s be clear: these tax breaks were never designed for housing. They’re relics of a different era – and now they’re entrenching inequality, locking young Australians out of the housing market, and inflating prices for everyone.
This change is fair, overdue, and won’t touch most so-called “mum and dad investors”.
