kolya<p>I finally bought a motorcycle, well a <a href="https://social.cologne/tags/minibike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>minibike</span></a> anyway. I'm waiting with bated breath for the delivery and license of my "gaiety red" pony. <a href="https://social.cologne/tags/cologne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cologne</span></a> won't be safe anymore! *makes weird motor noises*<br><a href="https://social.cologne/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
Rescogs<p>10 years after first launching, the Honda MSX125 Grom gets some sportier body panels for the 2025 model available now from dealers, along with a range of official Honda luggage and accessories for the first time...<br><a href="https://www.rescogs.com/2024/07/the-updated-2025-honda-msx125-grom-gets-official-accessories/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">rescogs.com/2024/07/the-update</span><span class="invisible">d-2025-honda-msx125-grom-gets-official-accessories/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Rescogs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Rescogs</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/HondaMSX125" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HondaMSX125</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Grom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Grom</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/HondaMSX125Grom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HondaMSX125Grom</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LearnerMotorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LearnerMotorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/A1LicenseMotorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>A1LicenseMotorcycles</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>First impressions on the Honda CRF300 Rally:</p><p>* Suspension is great on the road. Roads that make the Grom chatter like crazy feel like nothing in the CRF. Potholes just feel like a minor bump. Riding up curbs is easy.<br />* It&#39;s top-heavy for 150 kg. Need to be careful moving it around.<br />* Feels very stable at low speeds, perhaps due to the large tyres and heavier weight.</p><p>Overall, very happy so far. Looking forward to doing a small trip soon.</p><p>2/2</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaCrf300" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaCrf300</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>First impressions on the Honda CRF300 Rally:</p><p>* Sure vibrates a lot more than the Grom. I&#39;ll add some Grip Puppies.<br />* Seat height isn&#39;t as much of a challenge as I expected. I wouldn&#39;t want to start out on this bike, but it&#39;s very approachable after 1 yr of riding experience.<br />* Power is amazing compared to the Grom. No trouble doing 100 km/hr, even uphill.<br />* Gets blown around a lot more than the Grom did at 80+ km/hr.</p><p>1/2</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaCrf300" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaCrf300</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>I&#39;ve had the Honda Grom for 13 months and 6,400 km. It&#39;s been a great little bike, but it&#39;s time to upgrade. I want to travel and go camping, so I need something that can actually do highway speeds and carry a bit of weight. The Grom just isn&#39;t cut out for that.</p><p>So I purchased a new bike today!</p><p>Fingers crossed, it&#39;ll get delivered tomorrow. 🤞🏻 Then I&#39;ll reveal what I got. 🏍️</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
SpeedStar<p>After riding one, I think I need a <a href="https://app.bikers.social/tags/Honda" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Honda</span></a> <a href="https://app.bikers.social/tags/Grom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Grom</span></a> in my life. My Atx and my DT need a quirky garage mate.</p><p>These little bikes put a huge smile on your face and customisation seems to be limited only by your imagination.</p><p>Looks like a ton of overtime and saving coming up!</p><p><a href="https://app.bikers.social/tags/hondagrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hondagrom</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>Just got the Honda Grom back from its 6,400 km (4,000 mi) service. Maybe I&#39;m just imagining it, but it feels like new again now.</p><p>It&#39;d probably benefit from being serviced more frequently - it&#39;s only got 9 HP, so you have to ride it pretty hard to actually get anywhere. I&#39;ll try changing the oil at the next 3,200 km instead of waiting another 6,400.</p><p>Hard to believe I&#39;ve had this bike for 13 months now. It&#39;s a 10/10 bike, but I&#39;ll really need to upgrade soon.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>On second thought, maybe I won&#39;t buy the service manual for my Honda Grom. 😬</p><p>Apparently this is how much it costs to ship a 170 page paperback from the official publisher in the USA to Australia. Prices are in USD.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>Tried taking the Honda Grom down some corrugated roads today. The sport tyres weren&#39;t a problem, but the suspension *really* doesn&#39;t like it. 😂</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>Took the Honda Grom to the servo to pump up the tires. I think the tire pump must&#39;ve been broken, because I couldn&#39;t get it to work. All I achieved was deflating my front tire to 70%.</p><p>I told the clerk, then decided to just ride home since I live nearby. It&#39;s amazing how much of a difference an under-inflated tire makes for handling. The Grom is usually as nimble as a bicycle, but it was noticeably a *lot* harder to tip into corners.</p><p>Do not recommend.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>I installed some cheap mirror extenders on my Honda Grom, and it makes a world of difference. Now I can see behind myself without having to tuck my shoulders in!</p><p>Only issue is it seems to make the mirrors vibrate a little more. I don&#39;t mind, but I think they&#39;re going to need some locktight to keep them from rattling loose.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>It&#39;s been too long since I wrote a blog post, so here&#39;s the first for 2023: my brief thoughts on the Honda Grom after six months of ownership.</p><p>(tl;dr this bike is awesome 🏍️ )</p><p><a href="https://dheinemann.com/posts/2023-02-04-honda-grom-thoughts" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">dheinemann.com/posts/2023-02-0</span><span class="invisible">4-honda-grom-thoughts</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HondaGrom</span></a></p>
Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺<p>Feeling really sore after riding 800+ km (500+ mi) on the Honda Grom over two days, but had an absolute blast.</p><p>Lessons learned:</p><p>* The Grom is even slower than you think. Highway headwinds will knock your top speed down to 80 km/hr real (50 mi), even if you tuck as much as possible.</p><p>* Touring with a backpack sucks. Never again!</p><p>* A throttle lock makes a huge difference for comfort. So does stopping every hour for a stretch.</p><p>* It&#39;s really fun!</p><p>10/10 would recommend.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/hondaGrom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>hondaGrom</span></a></p>
