Perfect day with my family on my only full day off this week. Mom & I went for nature walk in the morning. We tended to gardens together in afternoon, after a nice picnic lunch by the sea. I gave her a fun diamond painting kit & she's working on that now.

This evening, I tried out a Himalayan spicy chicken & vegetable soup recipe - thukpa. Made some naan bread to dip in soup too. I made it without noodles because the carb is the naan bread for this homemade version.

I'll update more tomorrow. This full day off is focused on catching up with quality family time so I've been unplugged almost all day ✌️

[17:48] India, Pakistan and the Kashmir attack: what we know

"Satellite images reveal that the elevation at which #snow accumulates on the #Himalayan mountains is rising at abnormal rates.

Furthermore, it's suspected that much of the snow's disappearance is due to sublimation, not melting. This means more snow evaporates into the air, instead of turning to #water and running down the mountains. As Earth Observatory described, the snow is almost "vanishing into thin air.""

The Cool Down · Scientists alarmed by 'new normal' observed on slopes of Mount Everest: 'This is a wake-up call'The Himalayan snow line is rising at an alarming rate, leading to more frequent wildfires and water shortages.

A short part of Ruta 40 in the south is unpaved. Its know as the Malditos but it isn't too bad. It could be terrible when wet due to some sections being compacted dirt rather than gravel, but stick to the lines and you'll be fine.

At the end of that section, I put the bike aside for a bit and went hiking. Pic 2 is of the Fitzroy mountain peaks seen from the hiking trail.
