With the freshly sharpened blade, I went about making some grass cry.

Mostly to get mulchings to pour onto the bald spots from the mud party last spring. Uncovered earth just dries out too fast.

This is our designated mowing area for now, the rest can grow. Hopefully we can think of something more useful to plant other than grass at some point.

The area on the road side will be all trees and a little path through them.

WELCOME SPRING!
into the garden - peace of mind
This is the fourth in a series of paintings that illuminate the transformative beauty of the natural world. To visually express how total immersion into wild spaces can create a profound sense of peace; restore wonder; and generate calm in an increasingly chaotic world.

The outlet for my basement grow light does not work, so I waited until I could set plants out on my enclosed porch to start seeds in a tray (a month late). From left, nasturtium (mixed colours), National Pickling cucumber, Cherokee Purple tomato, sorrel, a yellow tomato of unknown variety, Queen Sophia marigold, Thessaloniki tomato, rocket arugula. Most are either saved seeds or old seeds, so germination is not the greatest, but whatever I get, I get.

This weekend I worked out a power thing and got the little pump working that I originally bought for the riparium. We
got a porcelain fish bowl at an estate sale and I thought it would be great for a constant source of moisture for the greenhouse.

There are a couple of large lava rocks inside, so that I can start to plant some aquatic stuff and maybe add some snails. It is big enough for some small fish, but after the raccoon episode I am not quick on getting new outdoor fish.
