Quantum Navigation via Magnetic fields.

<quote>
Even when the equipment was mounted inside a plane, where interference is much worse, it outperformed existing systems by at least 11x. This is the first time quantum technology has been shown to outperform existing tech in a real-world commercial or military application, a milestone referred to as achieving “quantum advantage."

Traffic Sucks

I backed out of the driveway at 7:29am. At that time the GPS app (Waze) was already telling me I was going to be late to work. My ETA was 9:03. The app detoured me off of my normal route less than half a mile from my house…

…and it was all downhill from there.

At about 8:50 I still had 10 miles to go and Waze started recalculating. My ETA started going up… fast. There was an accident on route 128 South (that’s route 95 for all of you non-locals) right at the junction with the Mass Pike (route 90, for all of you non-locals). I pulled into a parking spot at work at 9:30.

Nine. Fucking. Thirty.

So tell me, how’s your fucking Thursday morning treating you? Nothing like a two hour drive as your democracy is collapsing to make you feel good about the state of the world, know what I mean?

Here’s a cat. Enjoy.

starting to learn #friction a motion graphics package.
So far all the "bugs" I've found have been operator errors and misunderstandings.

I have a #svg graphic of a bicycle I found on #openclipart following a path that was made from a #gps
track off an #android phone using #viking to view a #OSM map and route and turned into a svg path in #gimp & #inkscape.

Yet to do;
turn the png frames into the video using #shotcut and some music and posted to a nextcloud server.

New! Installing G-Mouse GPS Receiver And Reading GPS Data On A Raspberry PI

The G-Mouse GPS receiver has a USB interface, a 2 meter long cable, and the GPS receiver itself is magnetic and so can attach to lots of different surfaces.

In this article we'll look at what happens when you plug in the GPS receiver, and then look at a couple of packages you can use to verify that the GPS receiver is working correctly.

#! codeInstalling G-Mouse GPS Receiver And Reading GPS Data On A Raspberry PII was looking to add GPS to my Raspberry Pi (specifically the Clockwork uConsole) and found this USB GPS Receiver with 2m Extension Cable on the PiHut website.
The views from Erice to Trapani make you drunk. The drive down sobers you up. Win-win.

Trapani to Erice cable car was under construction and we made the climb to the city that sits 2.5K feet above the sea level in our little rented VW. Took a few snapshots from the GPS monitor — to complete the feeling, just add a sheer cliff on one side of a two way road the width of one car and Bernard Herrmann in the background.

Sitting on my hands, looking at my Cary Grant, I was thinking who I resembled most at the time: Joan Fontaine, Grace Kelly, or Eva Marie Saint.

Schade #heise.

YMMV.

Your Smartphone Can Measure Solar Storms! ☀️🧲

Industry researchers found a way to provide better global coverage of what dynamics are occurring in the turbulent ionosphere - a region of Earth's atmosphere that is affected by the Sun's activity. They did this by tapping into GPS signals transmitted between smartphones and satellites.
