I guess the obvious answer is to try Pitivi again. I think I’ve been burned by it in the past with it losing a project and waiting a long time for an export to get something that wasn’t accurately following my intended cuts—but maybe it’s gotten better?

Is that the best option for me to try again, or is there something else that works well and looks good on a modern GNOME desktop that I should be looking at?

I just used Kdenlive to edit together a 15-minute video from about an hour of original footage and a few slide overlays. It worked flawlessly. I'm not doing anything wild and crazy—mostly recordings from OBS w/lots of little jumps to cut out “ums,” “uhs,” dead air, and alternate takes. It went really smoothly!

I don’t have a problem using the best tool for a job even if it’s not designed specifically for GNOME, but should I be trying a more GNOME-y app?

@ticho I explain my tech problems to the gang of #KnittedGnomes. There are a few missing from the photo as I leave them around the house. I also have one or two in process which I hope to finish this weekend. #knitting #gnome #rubberduck

I'd done a 'dconf reset -f /org/gnome/' before updating and even though the debian 6.6.15 kernel package appears system breaking on arm64, I do have a backup kernel and Wayland works just fine in #gnome. 🤔 Let's check Fedora now!

I read a post on reddit of a debian sid user complaining there's no Wayland session on their system after updating to #gnome 48... and I've never booted a VM faster and issued an update to see it for myself... but I'm still waiting cuz I don't really use debian so I had 666 (🤘) updates to get. 😆

@r1w1s1 #gnome 48 completely fails with a Wayland session on arm64. X11 works fine but waiting to find a fix for Wayland sessions. Even gdm won’t start on Wayland, I’ve looked at patches around but nothing is doing the trick. For comparison sake though, it’s working just fine on x86-64 so 🤷‍♂️
