Or 3d pictures as <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/sterography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sterography</span></a>/#stereoscopy.</p><p>Or any time I'm mentioning a city, seems like I have to cover a lot of variants llke <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Fremont" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fremont</span></a> and <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/fremontca" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fremontca</span></a> </p><p>And there's always singular/plural versions.</p><p>It would be nice if the system itself would understand that certain hashtags refer to the same thing.</p><p>Of course, having such a system is vaguely getting into the "curatorship" of other platforms that we're trying to avoid, and runs against the whole decentralized architecture of the Fediverse.</p><p>Maybe a simpler thing would be if, when you're typing a post, you could get some feedback about what possible hashtags are actually followed.</p><p>Now the *real* nerd solution would be hashtag <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/regex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>regex</span></a>'s.
