Ari [APz] Sovijärvi<p>The nightmare inducing mechanism of Road Show pin remake continues. The last piece of the CAD design puzzle is the eyelid mechanism. If this goes how I want it to go, it'll be gear driven like the eyes. I considered reusing the actual part, but so many pins where it's broken, so might as well provide everything to make these two knuckleheads live again.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/pinrepair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pinrepair</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/repair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>repair</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/freecad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freecad</span></a></p>

Ari [APz] Sovijärvi<p>I modelled the whole enclosure for the face mechanism, the in-game version is made of sheet metal, but this one will probably work fine for my wall mounted ornamental version of the thing.</p><p>I really need to look into FreeCAD's sheet metal workbench thing, this wouldn't probably be too hard to do out of metal after some lasering.</p><p>I also really need to learn the Assembly workbench that came with the 1.0. There's so many mechanical things I'd need to try out before printing.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/freecad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freecad</span></a></p>

Ari [APz] Sovijärvi<p>This Road Show sector gear had printed during the night and I got to try it out. Needed a small tweak for the axle size, other than it was spot on. </p><p>For those unfamiliar with Road Show's inner workings, this reduction gear + sector gear combo moves Red's and Ted's mouths. These gears get yanked back when the characters get hit by a ball in the chin and the result is often missing teeth in these gears.</p><p>But now they're recreated and freely available for 3D printing.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/pinball" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pinball</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/pinrepair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pinrepair</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/freecad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freecad</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/repair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>repair</span></a></p>

smellsofbikes<p>This is what the 3d probe currently looks like. The stack height is 14 mm with the springs compressed to what I think is the right working pressure. I'm cutting the housing right now.<br>Designed in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/freecad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freecad</span></a> printed in PLA.<br>I have a neat idea for a clamp tool so I can push the probe body solidly against the bearings for swapping probe tips. It's just a wedge, tbh.</p>
