A great life for a laptop bag in my use. Filson was known for their 'Buy It For Life' approach. The warranty was such that they would repair even very old items.</p><p>My bag has reached the point where it should be repaired. However the newer Filson Europe now only offers a 2 year warranty. Apparently products are no longer made in the US, and the company was purchased by a private equity fund. Prices way up.</p><p>Sounds like <a href="https://attractive.space/tags/enshittification" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>enshittification</span></a> in action :(</p>

jonnyborbs<p>Bought a <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/vintage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vintage</span></a> Mackinaw wool <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Filson" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Filson</span></a> jacket recently and just now did the research to discover it’s 80+ years old. Based on the union labeling, enameled buttons and pocket design it dates to the 1940s or 1950s. Crazy, it looks like brand new. I hope I look so good at that age.</p>
