Jan ☕🎼🎹☁️🏋️‍♂️<p>Well, I gave up and blew away the install - couldn't figure out why it never finished booting. Atleast we have a working <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/fedora38" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedora38</span></a> again.</p>
Jan ☕🎼🎹☁️🏋️‍♂️<p>Very odd. I modified my <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/fedora38" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedora38</span></a> to support <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/vfio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vfio</span></a> <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/passthrough" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>passthrough</span></a> of one GPU, tested it, decided it wasn't what I wanted, and removed the second GPU.</p><p>Changes were to the <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/grub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>grub</span></a> boot loader cmdline, and <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/dracut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dracut</span></a> (initramfs). </p><p>Now it's stuck halfway in the boot cycle. Not frozen, clearly waiting for something, but never timing out. It responds to ctrl-alt-del or the power button. Messages on screen are non-helpful.</p><p>I've booted into the system using a netinstall disk, removed all my changes, rebuilt dracut etc, yet it keeps doing the same. </p><p>I'm out of ideas save for reinstalling the OS, which I find a very sledgehammer approach.</p>
