John Chapman<p>Make Votes Matter (@MakeVotesMatter) in the UK said today, "Keir Starmer secured total power with just 34% in the general election." - they are WRONG! The Labour party was elected by 33.7% of those who voted but there was only a 59.8% turnout. This means the Labour party had the support of just 20.2% of the electorate. That's the lowest level of support any party has had since 1950 (as far back as I checked) Despite this they got a 156 seat majority. <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/FPTP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FPTP</span></a> doesn't work!</p>

Wen<p>Labour and foreign donors</p><p>The article is somewhat more nuanced than the title, <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Labour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Labour</span></a> have demonstrated, along with the <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Tories" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tories</span></a> and to a very much lesser extent the Lib Dums that they owe foreign donors for their parties - come on Starmer, what the fuck are you selling?
