@benmezger
Same for me, when I moved to my #ErgoDash, but then I restored my previous speed, even customizing the layout a lot.
I've even tried to move to Colemak Mod-DH but I was eay too slow while working.

My #ErgoDash with bamboo case by #FalbaTech and KAM-profile keycaps customized at YuzuKeycaps.com
@fedicat
You're welcome.
And if you're ready for a bigger step into the rabbit hole, feel free to fully customize your keycaps through YuzuKeycaps.com
I've created my absolute endgame set there, for my #ErgoDash after tweaking and thinking about my layout with #QMK.
But before that, I've bought more than a few things at YMDK.

Welcome into the tunnel.
@moshtodon
Same feeling here.
I have bought an (expensive!) #ErgoDash basically by a leap of faith.
But, in the end, now I'm happy.
@drechsler
I found more problems in using linear arrow keys when moving from "normal" keyboards to my #ErgoDash split columnar #MechanicalKeyboard .
My ~` key is on the top right (see pic), but it also depends on how frequently you use it.
Thanks to #YuzuKeycaps for the service and support, for the nice quality of their keycaps, the packaging and the easiness of creating custom keycaps with grouping templates, lots of colours, the possibility to upload custom fonts and icons.
My #ErgoDash is complete, now.
@release_candidate
If I have two press two keys to type è, then why not my #QMK-based #ErgoDash ?
I don't need compose key: I already have Italian layout and I can put the key everywhere.
@hyde
Aaaand... action!
Parcel just arrived.
My #ErgoDash #MechanicalKeyboard is now happy.
And me too: no custom fees, no delays!
Dear #MechanicalKeyboards folks, I've decided to give up.
I've switched my #ErgoDash to #ColemakDH in mid October (see https://marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/keyboards/ergodash/ergodash.html#ergodash---day-443- ) but I've never been a touch-typer and it's very difficult to find even 20 minutes per day for training (see https://www.keybr.com/profile/f5vmplt ).
While working I'm slowing down everyone, waiting for me typing and doing bunch of errors.
I don't think I'll continue: I'm updating my #QMK layers to go back to #QWERTY.
20+ years of QWERTY are hard to change.
@fedicat
You can read my story with #ErgoDash at https://marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/keyboards/ergodash/ergodash.html and my whole (long!) story with #MechanicalKeyboards at https://marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/keyboards/my-keyboard-story.html
Here it is: the order preview by #YuzuKeycaps for my KAM PBT dye sub custom keycaps set.
My #MechanicalKeyboard hearth is in peace, now: my #ErgoDash will be perfect.
@CostasK
I've bought my #ErgoDash from #FalbaTech.
Highly recommended, and the bamboo cases are cool!
And here it is, my (current? latest? last?) interaction with the #MechanicalKeyboards world.
https://marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/keyboards/ergodash/ergodash.html#ergodash---day-521-
I think that, this time, together with my lovely #ErgoDash (really, my endgame keyboard), I also have reached nirvana, with the endgame _also_ for the #keycaps set.
See you in next episode, when the keycaps will arrive and I will write about them!
For now, thanks again to @hyde for having wrote the toot about #YuzuKeycaps: you've shown me the light!
@nutjob4life
Actually, if you buy any #QMK (or VIA or VIAL or ...) -compatible keyboard, you can easily swap, say, Ctrl with Caps Lock and live better.
And the keyboard doesn't even need to be something crazy like my #ErgoDash: there are standard layout keyboards out there that can manage it.
Ciao #FediHelp,
and #MechanicalKeyboards entusiasts.
*question*: what do you think about keycaps in lowercase?
I'm (still! ) playing with FKCaps.com/custom to create my perfect keycaps set, for my endgame #ErgoDash and I'm thinking to use GNU Free Sans for the keycaps, in lowercase for letters.
Opinions?
I have Windows input macros for À, È, É, Ì and Ò together with ~ and ` that also have their own Emacs-specific macros. Wondering if and where to add #Emacs macros for all uppercase accented letters, but it might become messy with #QMK layers... let's see. A possible solution might be an Emacs-specific set of layers...
Here the current #ErgoDash mapping: https://marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/keyboards/ergodash/current.html
I've (strongly) reshuffled my #ErgoDash #MechanicalKeyboard #QMK layouts.
https://marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/keyboards/ergodash/current.html
I'm still using the QMK Configurator, compiling it due to macros.
This configuration is anyway probably not final, but another step to a more complete and proper solution.
Forming idea is about three layer keys per thumb plus Caps Word, Repeat Key and just like Miryoku, I want "orthogonal" layers, with a single purpose per hand, accessed by holding a thumb key on the opposite hand.
