@damian_anslik very good point! I’m brand new to the #fediverse but it reminds me of the technology used in #endersgame which I always thought would be the best future for online communication. No ads, no prerogative by some overlord to push agendas. Just free and open communication. The only thing this place seems to be lacking for new users are subject categories to find content which is where #reddit really excels to build community

#Retrocomputing & #SciFi trivia: During his brief tenure as Compute! Magazine’s book editor in 1983, #EndersGame author #OrsonScottCard contracted Craig Chamberlain to write #programming books on the #Commodore64 based on the latter’s work on the #Atari 400 and 800 Pokey Player #music system.

Chamberlain’s second Compute! book, “All About the #Commodore 64, Volume Two,” was the first appearance of #Sidplayer, which would become the US's most popular #C64 music system.

During the holiday break I devoured the Speaker for the dead #audiobook. This #book is one of the "Sequels" in the #EndersGame book series.

It is not a fast-paced action packed book like it's predecessor. but rather a #enderverse themed story exploring the Speaker role of Ender Wiggins.

Multiple threads are fully explored in this book, but I primairly loved the storyline around of actually getting to know someone, their flaws, strengths, history and using empathy to know the whole truth.
