#China announced preliminary anti-dumping duties on Canadian #canola imports on Tues, escalating a year-long #trade dispute that began with Ottawa's imposition of #tariffs on Chinese #ElectricVehicle imports last Aug.

The 75.8% provisional rate will be effective from Thursday.

The #Canada disputed the Chinese finding saying in a statement late Tues the country does not dump canola & that it was "deeply disappointed" w/China's decision, but remained open to dialogue.

Yesterday, I stopped at a charging station in Mořice. It was probably the best charging experience I've had so far. There were 14 400 kW chargers, sheltered, with a picnic area, and a bistro nearby. I later learned that it had opened just four days ago, and that it is the first charging station in the Czech Republic that also supports electric trucks.

Well done, #EON. This is another sign that #electromobility is gaining momentum here.

As of this morning we've driven our Chevrolet Equinox EV a total 1,105 miles (1,778 kilometers) with an average energy efficiency of 3.5 miles per kWh (5.6 kilometers per kWh).

This means we've consumed approximately 315 kWh of electricity, and since we only charge at home (overnight, when charging costs are lower), we've spent US$63 on energy for those 1,105 miles (slightly less actually, since the dealer delivered the car fully charged for so the first ~260 miles (418 kilometers) were free).

Our previous car which had a fairly efficient gasoline ICE would have consumed approximately 36 gallons of fuel, and at local prevailing costs we would have spent approximately US$118 for fuel.

This year, 2025, was one I had been planning for years to make the move to an all electric vehicle by this autumn (September). However, due to all the tariff and political nonsense taking place, will hold off on doing so. Just doesn't feel like the right time to make such a purchase in the current environment, even though I would really like to. I had planned to custom order a 2026 model of some kind (small 4x4 SUV type) during this June/July but it's just not meant to be. #ElectricVehicle #EV

Great #EV pullback has begun
#Automakers are canceling or delaying new #electricvehicle amid political whiplash after signing of Trump’s EV-tax-break-killing budget bill.
President Trump’s #tariffs aren’t helping much, nor is recent passage of his $3.4 trillion #bigbeautifullbill, which takes sledgehammer to most EV incentive programs. And Trump’s decision to reverse tougher #emissions rules passed under former President Joe Biden is just icing on pretty unappetizing cake

> By leveraging the proven Shine chassis, #Honda can significantly cut development costs, manufacturing complexity, and market price. That’s a big statement given that surviving in price-sensitive markets like India demands simplicity and reliability

> This could be the first truly mass-market electric motorcycle from a major OEM, with a sticker price likely far below the $5,000 mark
