I used to like #DistroTube, but now I’m very disappointed, ’cause he decided to join the chorus of those who have been complaining that “now” #FreeSoftware became political.

Last night I saw an exciting #YouTube video from #DistroTube that convinced me to try #emacs in the #doom version again. Yes, I was one of those simpletons who thought emacs was "just" an editor like #vim. Shame on me and you can all laugh mockingly.

The video also showed the first steps. I managed to do that with a few pull-ups. #emms plays music, although a long list with thousands of music tracks is not comfortable. And #RSS #feeds work too, even if I'm still struggling with the operation. Conclusion so far: it still needs some getting used to. #Linux #Arch

Ich habe gestern Abend ein spannendes #YouTube Video von #DistroTube gesehen, mit dem ich mich habe überzeugen lassen, es nochmal mit #emacs in der #doom-Version zu probieren. Ja, auch ich gehörte zu den Einfaltspinseln, die emacs "nur" für einen Editor wie #vim hielten. Schande über mein Haupt und ihr dürft gerne alle herzlich spöttisch lachen.

In dem Video wurden auch die ersten Schritte aufgezeigt. Mit ein paar Klimmzügen habe ich die auch hinbekommen. #emms spielt Musik, obwohl eine lange Liste mit tausenden Musiktitel nicht komfortabel ist. Und #RSS #Feeds funktionieren ebenfalls, auch wenn ich hier noch mit der Bedienung hadere. Fazit bisher: es braucht noch einiges an Einarbeitung. #Linux #Arch

Distrotube put out a video taking a look at Zorin OS. Certainly a distro that has the cosmetics down. Zorin OS is a distro based on Ubuntu for those that don't know.

Was watching #distrotube 's latest video now and he mentioned how hates "begging proprietary software companies to port their software over to Linux" and how rarely it is done even user is eager to pay for #linux version if existed... and I thought about my fav word processor app #Atlantis, which is developed by very small team so even if they wanted they'll have no chance to port and maintain Linux version...
And then: "hmm why can't #AI do the port?"
Damn, perhaps someday (?)...

@distrotube put out a video today suggesting that the #Arch community doesn't like people using his videos to install Arch. In fact, I've seen this sentiment about him several times from the #linux community -- stay away from his videos. I don't understand why. I've learned so much from him, and have been exposed to so many tools and tips and tricks I would have had no idea about otherwise. Why is he so maligned by some?
