La #recomanació musical d'avui va pel disc X de la banda #Stam1na.

Fantàstica barreja de diverses famílies de #metall extrem (hi ha #thrash, #DeathMetal i alguna cosa més trobaríem) i no tant extrem (simfònic, speed, potser power), amb tocs de #progressiu per fer-ho encara més interessant.

Tècnica exquisida per part de tots els instruments (i el cantant, impressionant: passa per totes les tècniques molt bé!), sempre al servei de la cançó i no per agradar-se (coff DT coff).

Les lletres són en finès. Per mi és un avantatge, m'agrada escoltar altres idiomes xD

Once again.
I'm huge #discworld fan. I re-read/listen everything from #sirterrypratchett once a year. So when it was time to decide a graduation work subject back in #ceramic studies.. I didn't need to think long.

So here's my big Discworld #sculpure. All is there, #a'tuin #elephants and the #disc.
Mostly made by #clay but the sea is melted plastic.
I did take some #artistic freedom with elephants.

This is the only one left of four Discworld #art pieces I've made, that I have permission to sell.

@ajroach42 's article [1] convinced me to get back into physical media so I picked up these supplies for fun, might make a shareware CD later. I already had a bunch of CDs and paper sleeves, but i did buy a long stapler and some 9x6 catalog envelopes.

Bill Nale wrote in 2018 [2] that he could get away with using a regular Forever stamp on these, but the USPS website says you're *supposed* to use a Non-Machinable Surcharge stamp for 'rigid' mail. They're just like Forever stamps but they cost extra, currently $1.19.

Since Forever stamps are worth $0.73 right now you *could* just use two of those, for $1.46 total, and write "non-machinable" on the letter yourself. In hindsight I should have done that, and saved myself some trouble. Oh well, it was a good excuse to visit my local post office!

Now I just need to actually write something worth printing...

a booklet made of two 8.5x11 inch pages stapled together and folded in half, for an overall size of 8.5x5.5 inch. in the middle of the booklet is a CD disc in a paper sleeve. The disc is only 5 inches wide so it fits inside the booklet.

Das Label OSTALGICA ("Der Ost-Film") bringt den bereits auf DVD erhältlichen DDR-TV-SciFi-3Teiler
"Stunde des Skorpions" demnächst auch auf Bluray in zwei DigiPack-Versionen heraus. Die rote Version enthält noch eine Bonus-DVD mit dem Film "Projekt Merkur". Den genauen Veröffentlichungs-Termin der Bluray wird OSTALGICA in Kürze bekannt geben.
Der 3-teilige Fernsehfilm wurde im DDR-Fernsehen erstmals
am 20./21./22.12.1968 ausgestrahlt.
In der Programmankündigung hieß es damals: "Mit dem utopischen Kriminalfilm macht der Deutsche Fernsehfunk den Versuch, einen auf wissenschaftlich-technischer Vorausschau beruhenden Blick in die Welt von morgen zu werfen." In dieser Vorausschau wollen feindliche Agenten die epochale Erfindung einer neuartigen Energiequelle in ihren Besitz bringen, um sie als vernichtende Waffe gegen das führende sozialistische Weltlager zu missbrauchen.
Die Mini-Serie war als Ost-Antwort auf die zwei Jahre zuvor gestartete "Raumpatrouille"-Serie gedacht und konzipiert.
Wikipedia schreibt dazu: "Ästhetisch und akustisch lehnt sich der Film deutlich an die westdeutsche Fernsehserie Raumpatrouille an, die zwei Jahre zuvor ausgestrahlt und 1968 wiederholt wurde. Dies wird besonders deutlich bei einer Tanzsequenz, bei der sich die Paare zu elektronischer Musik bewegen und die an die Tänze im Starlight-Café erinnern. Die IKOM weist Parallelen zum Galaktischen Sicherheitsdienst GSD der Raumpatrouille auf."

Around the #protostar V347 Aurigae orbits a brown dwarf of 30 Jupiter masses. Its elliptical trajectory invites the two bodies to periodically move towards and away from each other, generating #instabilities in the #disc of matter that envelops and feeds the nascent binary system. The fall of #matter onto the protostar results in a temporary increase in its luminosity by a factor of 100. Periodic light bursts captured by the SPIRou instrument.
