Always check for the inclusion of #Denuvo or other kernel-level #DRM before buying a new game. That horrible Digital Ransomware Mechanic should not be on any computer, should not be in any game, and should not exist. Nor should anything like it. I've been a strong opponent of DRM since the days of SecuRom, and will never support it willingly. Companies who include DRM show they don't care about their customers. Vote with your wallet and don't take their shit even if they try to paint it gold.

More #Denuvo DRM removal news with Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven dropping their irdeto subscription.

There's still an awful lot of games which are still under that sad umbrella, but I'd say the number of gamers like me who refuse to buy a game which performs worse than if it had no Denuvo are little.

I'd hazard this one was dropped because:

They paid for Denuvo, and they ended up with 145 all-time reviews on #Steam (at the time of removal)

@quinoa0 De DRM solo conozco el propio de #Steam (que es una chorrada) y el #Denuvo. No dan ninguno problemas ninguno de los dos.

Algunos anti trucos sí. Los que sí se conocen que funcionan bien son Battleye y Easy Anti-Cheat. Uno de los dos (o los dos, no recuerdo) requieren activación explicita por el editor para usarse en Proton.

Everyone's least favorite part of modern #gaming - #Denuvo has 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 been removed from another game.

#FinalFantasy 16 is now free from DRM, exactly 6 months later. This is a clear 6 month contract which has run its course (Denuvo costing 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 25K per month on games it is enabled on)

Will performance improve? It may be imperceptible, or it may be enormous, but yes. It will. Stupid Denuvo.

I bought #MonsterHunterWilds to play on #linux today.

The #gamingonlinux support is not quite there yet and the game crashes ~every hour. Not great, but not terrible.

Unfortunately for me, after my 5th crash and reboot, I'm greeted with an error: the game uses #Denuvo #DRM, which limits me to 5 installations on a new computer every 24 hour period.

Looks like the Denuvo DRM considers every run of my game as a separate installation, so I LITERALLY can't use the game I bought today anymore.
