...good about keeping those.
Many books that I want I'm scanning in coz I don't need them in physical form. I've done about 18-20. Unfortunately I newly bought bobbin lace books with charts so want to keep those. But might #declutter a couple that aren't what I hoped.
I hope my sister can help me during our stacation hols. Sorting even a small area would be fantastic. She can hold up items for a Yes/No decision, - might work well. She's a wonderful friend and a great sister. Love her loads.

Literally thinking outside the box today.

For no good reason I kept this annoying crate which isn't big enough for beer bottles. I just realised how good it is for storing all the shit that "is too good to go cause it might come handy one day".

I'm also thinking about whether holding on to stuff that I might need/want again, is about pride.
It makes me feel really good to come up with a use case for an item I've hung on to for the longest time. For me, there might be a bit of vanity involved in hoarding lots of things. So clever to come up with uses!
I might consider how specialist an item is (and #declutter), and keep multi-purpose items. Some kitchen gadgets are the worst in that way. I probably thought it would make me cook more?!

I finally got rid of the old bed I’d kept since moving in, so the room feels pretty empty right now.

I’m in the process of reorganizing everything and plan to turn this space into my own anarchist sanctuary.

Soon, I’ll add a bookshelf and more anarchist art to the wall, right next to the communist hammer and sickle symbol.

Bialumbo looked at a drawer full of “just in case” stuff—old cables, expired spices, random junk.

He realized: Those moments rarely come.
So he let go.

Now?
Less clutter. More calm.
Because freedom starts with one small choice to release.

What are you holding onto “just in case”?

"Please sign here. Is this your first Life Extension?"

I don't know why I was nervous. Every citizen was entitled to one free 100 year extension.

"Yes. This will be my first Erasure Orientation"

"Ok." The clerk seemed bored.

"It's mandatory to explain that Memory Erasure is permanent.

We don't recommend choosing heartbreaks or instances of illness. That never goes well. Dreamless sleep is popular - that normally saves a few decades.."

I nodded.

Still decluttering

Have reached the 'Maybe I should just set everything on fire and go live in a hole in the woods?' Stage.

BUT !

It's fine.

I know this will pass. just like it has before *and* ..

I own faaaaar too many out of print books to be contemplating Fire.

My books don't deserve that.

(Phone Spell check really wants to make Declutter into Duck Glitter. Wtf? Do Ducks have a secret Glitter plot I should be wary of? ]

We're starting our process of what we keep versus what we move to a new house. We're #Downsizing, which means we have extra couches, beds, dressers, etc. Once we actually put an offer on a new house, ideally, in the next 2 weeks, we'll have a better idea of what has to go. Currently, we are cleaning out cupboards and building inventory for a garage sale in May, a month before our closing. We've got a few puzzles to sell.

Tidying up the email inbox and archives…
How much old stuff do people keep? Completed bookings (hotels/airbnb etc.)? Completed amazon orders? Messages from friends and acquaintences? And how do you deal with subscription emails that are handy to have but mount up? Marketing and/or newsletters etc.
