I think it's mostly because the current design makes me think more of smooth-skinned elves similar to those in the cinematic LotR universe? I'm sure I'll get used to it (like the ST:D <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Klingons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Klingons</span></a>, though I still prefer the TNG/DS9/VOY ones), but atm they still feel more like a new race than <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Romulans" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Romulans</span></a> ;)</p><p>I think <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Dahj" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Dahj</span></a>'s death might've had a stronger impact if they'd waited with the 'twins' reveal a few episodes.</p>
