Finally started working on my new smart home setup.

Installed Home Assistant on RPi4, connected with Philips Hue, Tado and Sonos. Already works better than Apple Home (which just looks abandoned product at this point, like most of Apple apps)

Next step — ZigBee Dongle and bunch of sensors

This is what variable layer height with a 1mm nozzle looks like 😎 Currently #3DPrinting a subwoofer enclosure found on printables and remixed to fit my 4 inch GHX Driver from Ali-X. This thing becomes rock solid 🪨 50% infill, 2 Perimeters and a layer height between .2 and .8 mm

I'm really looking forward to the result 🔊🔊

One of those days. Lost my most valuable tool.

It's a 2.5m long piece of fencing wire with the perfect stiffness/flexibility for fishing wires through walls. Don't know how I could misplace a big long wire, but somehow I did.

Searched everywhere three times, including the hollow wall/ceiling sections I'd been working in.

Checked HW store - and while cheap, it comes in 100ft length, though I only need 8ft of it.

Oh long gnarly wire friend, where are you!?

Next "ole Mac", an Oleo-Mac 942 from 1997. This one is a trooper. Starts on the first pull, even in deep winter. The air filter is basically chicken fencing and somehow that works fine. Modern saws can choke on a dust mote, but this thing breathes saw chips and keeps going.

Got a clean-up and a new throttle cable, as the old had chafed through. Luckily some guy in Kaunas is stripping old saws and selling the parts for reasonable prices. New parts are no longer available.
